EA tries to get rid of Madden Curse by selecting...
Someone who doesn't even play in the NFL anymore, Brett Favre. That's great news that AD won't be on it this year and I guess Favre kinda deserves it.
Brett Favre is the Madden 09 cover athlete | pastapadre.com

Nah the curse is still alive.
Rodgers will suffer an injury that will get the Packers calling Favre. "Hey, Bret, remember that promise you made? We need ya." First snap, Bret Favre steps back and gets plummetted by a 350 pound defensive end (there goes that crappy offensive line again) and suffers a career-ending injury. As a result, Green Bay drops to 2-14 on the year, receives the top pick in the draft, and selects a kicker. It's all downhill from that point on. (Yes, it wasn't downhill until after the kicker was selected first. Everything before that is actually success).

There was a time when John Madden was the guy on the cover of Madden games, and back then, they were actually fun to play.

Quote:
Online Leagues- 2k had this in 2k5 but I guess four years later is nice too. New Announcers & Broadcast- Maybe now we'll hear some varied lines that actually apply to the game and situation. User-Controlled Celebrations- I remember seeing this in Gameday 2000 but I guess nine years later is nice too. Offensive Line Slide Protection- Yes, this was in the game a couple years ago, they took it out so now they can put it in as a new feature. Stadiums- That's great news, but what have the players been playing in for the past 19 versions of the game? Franchise- Maybe it'll be up to par where it was 5 years ago. Field Goal Nets- No way!!! How can they go through 19 years without having field goal nets, it's a must buy now.

I'm pretty sure this will just be a full on digitized John Madden/Brett Favre porn.

I got tired of playing Madden back in the 2003 version. When my best sack year was a grand total of 4.....BY THE ENTIRE FRICKIN' TEAM!! I swear I averaged about 7 plays a game where the QB threw the ball when I had hit him and he was 2 inches from the ground. And about 5 more that was the tuck rule. On another note: My team averaged about 50 ints a year (mainly because of the refusal of the QB to take a sack). Needless to say that was little fun.
Course 2002 was littered too in some ways. I played my safeties on the line of scrimmage. Sadly, it was the only way I could them to get between the receiver and the ball. Otherwise they would try to race the receiver to the end zone. Overall, 2002 was better. (Note: I played the PC version of these.)Well, my rant mode is on so, now for my PC versions of NBA Live 2003 and 2005. 2003 was better. Sure, the fast break was too easy. But, yeesh, at least the players could dribble the ball. In 2005, they dribbled like an uncoordinated 3-year old with a broken leg. ANd the players they looked like soulless robots with rubber skin. Nightmare fuel there. Give me the worse graphics, please. EA Sports one step forward, 10 leaps back. ![]() For those who made it through. Thanks for letting me rant. *picks up soapbox, goes home*
