Smoltz to the bullpen...again
The Official Site of The Atlanta Braves: News: Smoltz: 'I'm coming back as a reliever'
Good news for this Braves fan. It has been obvious this year that starting has really been stretching him physically. Not sure if it's an injury that he can't get rid of or if he's just old (or if it's an injury he can't get rid of because he's just old), but he hasn't been able to work deep into games and is starting to wear down already. Smoltz was virtually unhittable until his last start, when he was really hurting. I know he had an ERA around .5 through his first 4 or 5 starts. So if he's healthy, I think he'll be the best closer in the game. Again.

Well, I havent watched the Braves much this year. But, given their bullpen situation. He'd be way more valuable down there right now, regardless.
