Mayo is bad for you, apparently
ESPN - Ex-Mayo confidant says he gave USC star gifts including TV, cash - Men's College Basketball
I have nothing to say about it, other than what else is new. Discuss... |

I've been saying on these boards for 2 years now that this stuff was going on with this kid. If I knew, why didn't the NCAA?
I don't blame USC for this one, but it was so blatantly obvious what was going on here and how dirty that entire North College Hill program was. This kid's amateur status has been questioned since his sophomore year of High School. It's not a coincidence that a kid of his talent level had virtually zero big time scholarship offers. |

I don't see how Floyd would have known. You may blame the school for not running more detailed investigations, but it's not an issue of school giving players booster money like past violations in some other schools.

As for Floyd, he did what every college coach does, he turned his head the other way. Anyone with a brain knew this kid was probably not an "amateur". There couldn't have possibly been more red flags. The AAU circuit is getting way out of hand and they need to go back to the old rules of letting kids come straight out of High School or else we're going to see a lot more situations like this. |

I'd think it's been ten years at least since the AAU circuit was "getting out of hand". |
