In Anaheim? I'd like to at least just feel comfortable knowing we can beat them.

It seems that Anaheim already has this great comfort in knowing that they will beat the Yankees anytime, anywhere. And the Yankees seemingly have this belief that Anaheim is going to storm back - it's not a matter of if, it's a matter of when and they play with this fear because of it.

In other news...is it really the All-Star Break? I honestly didn't notice.

I still think Girardi must go, he doesn't impress me at all.

What those guys are talking about started under Torre, though. Mattingly would put a stop to it!

It's either that or his wife will beat the crap out of every player until they beat the Angels.

Don't worry...I'm sure the Yankees will go out and spend another 100 million next off season....LOL. Sorry, just gotta throw that one out there.
Anyways, I wouldn't worry too hard about the Angels....they may just match up well with you with the current roster set ups for both teams (right now).

Nice to see Mo get the A-S save in front of his family.

Are you guys being quiet on purpose around here?
Like someone post here, and the winning streal ends?

If the Yanks lose tonight, I might have to schedule a trip to Japan and bring a wet trout to smack you with

Actually, I am going to San Diego for the business trip next week.
I will bring the wet trout over myself.

Joba confuses me. I feel like he's that high school sweet heart. I love him, I love him not.

He's still young. We don't know yet.

Heh. Well, it's nice to note that the Yankees are in first by 2 1/2 games this morning. It's also nice to note the BoSox are right behind us, currently the team to beat.

It's VERY nice to see that the AL East Division standings order is returning to normal, too. The Reign of the Rays seems to be shortlived, and over.

Listen, leave Joba alone. He is 23, he spent all of 1 1/2 years in the minor leagues. He will be fine, just be patient. Believe it or not, I think the Yanks know what they are doing with him.

Book mark this post, in 2-3 seasons you will thank me

Well, I can't argue with you tonight, watching Joba shut out the Rays through seven, his third good start in a row. I guess we need to wait the 2-3 seasons to see who was right.

One thing for sure, I'm really glad about not being the guy(s) actually making the decision(s) on how Joba is handled and developed. All I get to do is vent here like the rest of us, thank goodness.

I love Joba

They even said on the game tonight, he is learning as he goes like I pointed out earlier. Its gonna suck when they have to take him out of the rotation... Tho, what they should do is swap him and Hughes at some point so Hughes can build up his innings for next year too.

Well, they both need to get their IP up their so they can start next year. The perfect solution if you ask me is to swap them out some time soon. They don't lose anyone in the pen that way, Joba fills those shoes and Hughes gets his IP up so he can start next year.

Well, I got to say it's a pleasant problem to have, given Wang's downfall. Man, nobody can convince me that his problems don't all stem from that stupid interleague game in Houston last year when he injured his foot running the bases. Formula: major foot injury alters delivery; alters pitching performance; hurts pitching arm/shoulder trying to compensate. We may have seen the last of Chien-Ming.

Speaking of the last of, that's all for Chamberlain, 8 innings of shutout ball. Well, again, thank God nobody listens to me (except you and a few others here, but that's just to tell me I don't know what I'm talking about ).

It's too bad he wasn't given the opportunity for the shutout, but I can understand the desire to "baby" him. He was at about 105 pitches after 8.
