Hey, I fully support Joba as a starter.

Doesn't mean I can't get upset when he doesn't get out of the fifth inning. He's been improving, though and I enjoy that.

Can you imagine/remember what some pitchers would have done / did many years ago after being taken out of such a game, cruising along like Joba was, with a shutout a mere three outs away? Now, it's no big deal any more.

Yes, he really busted his gut getting into third. He was not to be denied.

I wonder what he said (in Spanish, no doubt) when he popped up safe at third. It was directed to his teammates in the dugout, who were all standing and clapping for him.

Getting the triple in the last at bat is pretty darned special, as it's the hardest to do. And when you look at the list of the other Yankees in history to hit for the cycle, Melky's in very special company.

I really hope you guys can hold off Boston. I think you can. I thought the yanks would be an 85 win team this year.

Well, I think I just saw at the end of tonight's game that we're 2 1/2 ahead of the BoSox now.

My Sox look like poop at the moment, and Ortiz is likely to come up with a ridiculous PED story while in NY. Not good. I think the Yanks are catching them at the perfect time.

Yay!! We won one It's hard to fathom that we're ahead of a team by 3 1/2 games who we are 1-8 against.

Thanks for the welcome. I have been a YANKEE fan since 1958 with Mantle, Ford amd Maris. A lot of lean years then the Thurman Munson Reggie years then a few more lean years to the Jeter era. But these days I also root for our new hometown team the RENO ACES of the PCL, the AAA Affilate of the DBACKS.Last night was a great night the YANKS beat the SOX and our ACES defeated the Iowa Cubs in Des Moines GO ACES GO YANKS

Yeah, unless he was six or less when he started rooting. Any older than that and he gets the crown. Stick around, ACESFAN 1!

Still watching the NY-BOS game 2 of the series. (Top of 13th)
Just waiting for the Yankees to kill us.
I really think it is just a matter of time now.

RE Here's to your next fifty years of fanhood!!!

I was 12 when I started following the Yanks and get this I was raised in Southeastern Mass and my dad was a devout RED SOX fan. We would watch the YANKS and SOX play on TV and argue who was better Ted Williams or Mick. As I get older Mick is still my all time Yankee favorite but I admire Williams for the hitter that he was and I do not think any player will ever hit over .400.

I assume you meant the game, because there's a lot of season left to go.

You stick around, for these reasons:
  1. You're interesting.
  2. We need more mature heads in these threads to show the young'uns how life does not end at 40 (or 30, for many of them).

Hello everyone. After last night's marathon I'm hoping for a big game from CC today. Being up 4 1/2 sure feels nice, and finally beating the Red Sox feels even nicer.
