I will record this here, although it will attract Jeter bashers from all points of the map:

Wow, Jeter's accelerating this late in the season. He's up to .330 going into tonight's game.

Go Jeter... Love seeing this streak he is on. Just proves he was not healthy last year.

Wow. The Yanks are pounding the Sox tonight, 15-4 in the sixth. I'll say it. Break up the Yankees! In November, after winning the World Series, that is. Let 'em go home for the winter. Bring 'em back together in the spring for year #2 of the latest dynasty!

Yes, I tempt the fates speaking in this manner. Hubris, hubris. Yet tonight I cannot help it.

I am literally biting my lip here...

Penny was simply horrible.
We had to use 20 Relief pitchers, knowing we need another 20 for tomorrow's game in which Tazawa starts.

7RBIs for Matsui?
When was the last time he had 2HR in a game!

Oh, about a week ago. 8/13, two home runs in Seattle. Earlier this season, 5/27 in Texas.

So, three two-HR games this year. Only two others, in 2004 and 2007. I'd say he's having one of his better seasons and is a big reason for the current Yankee success.

38 runs in 11 innings in this series. That is some serious run-scoring and it's not even at Yankee Stadium

Either the YANKS are just hot or Boston's pitching is just that bad

Just keep up with whatever it was you were doing. At least we got some runs on the board yesterday

12-0 now, and a 2HR game from Youk so far.

This is exactly what I was complaining about. Sure, they scored 20 runs on Friday night, but they gave up way too much. Today, more of the same.

Gee, thanks Tony. I expected "Stop, stop! Don't hurt yourself!"

I don't know. When you are in the driver seat in a blow out, your pitching might tend to relax so 11 runs wasn't a concern to me. Also, 2 were unearned, and 4 were from mop-up Mitre, who is headed for the exit.

14 runs yesterday is definitely a concern, obviously. Not so much Aceves and Robertson, who have been pretty good this year. 9 runs yielded by Burnett, whose lows are getting lower - which Burnett did we get?

almost pulled off a crazy comeback tonight. not sure that I agree with having swisher attempt a bunt there at the end, hes only had 3 sac bunts all season and 4 prior to this season.

This Yankees team this year is the best one in a long time.
I do not even know how we managed to have that early streak against this team.

Early in the season, everyone was still trying to figure out how to play together. Girardi had a mandate to calm down, but still have the hatchet over his head if he didn't make the playoffs. 3 key pieces were trying to prove they were worth their contract, and A-Rod was out because of his surgery.

Everyone is healthy, comfortable and in a groove now. Hopefully, our pitching will settle down again and we'll be able to finish the year off strong.
