Nearly half of the German squad could actually play for another country.

Andreas Beck - Russia
Sebastian Boenisch - Poland
Jerome Boateng - Ghana
Think I'm right in saying his brother has chosen to play for Ghana.
Dennis Aogo - Nigeria
Sami Khedira - Tunisia
Ashkan Dejagah - Iran
Mesut Ozil - Turkey
Marko Marin - Serbia
Anis Ben-Hatira - Tunisia
Gonzalo Castro - Spain

I know Ozil has said he wants to play for Germany but Castro only played for them because the Spanish didn't pick him for an under 17 game or something so if they don't pick him he could well turn again and play for Spain.

Players of German Ethnicity- Beck, Boenish, Boatang, Khedira,

Players born in Germany-Ozil, Aogo, Khedira, Castro

If England had to play without their black players, where would they be? France too.

But most of Englands black players are born and bred in England and also their parents, to be honest the rule on what nation you play for should be the country you were born in, none of this where your parents or grandma where born it should simply be where YOU were born.

Way the rule is now there is nothing stopping a country going round and actually buying young players like they do with athletes and such, bringing in a rule of your birth nation would fix that.

And?? How many England players could also play for other countries because of their parents nationality? You cant play the nationality card. Of the big Euro footie countries only the Italians and the Spanish seem to play people who would have been Italian or Spanish more than 2 or 3 generations ago.

Beck and Boenisch seem to be victims of post WWII politics. Many people who were German for millenia living in Prussia or Silesia suddenly became Polish or Russian because of politics.

Now, countries starting Brazilian born players is a different matter.

Your confusing me, show me where I played the nationality card as I stated "You should play for the country you were born" didn't I ? So actually I'm stating the opposite to what your insinuating I am. I'll be honest I don't want people who where born in Angola or Iran or whichever country playing for England, example being I hate Kevin Pietersen playing for England at cricket when he was born and raised in South Africa even though his mother is English, About time people actually read what people posted instead of what they think people posted.

Im fine with that rule. But you seemed to be criticising the Germans for having an inauthentic team. They didnt have anyone on their team though who didnt have German parents, or, were born and/or raised there. Its not like they are Mexico starting Brazilian and Argentinian born platers who only recently moved there.

Haha I love CM with a passion. That's how I eventually found OOTP, been playing cm/fm for all these years. I remember not going out weekends at times during high school cause i had to get that season in, so I'm basically like and can relate to the sickos here who have problems putting these types of games down. Anyway, I'm just a guy who had the opportunity to play most of my life and eventually at a high level with good players over here. I truly love the game and am just a fan and student of it. I actually have the chance to get into coaching as an assitant at a division 1 school, girls though unfortunately. Not sure if I'm going to take the position yet, but if I can get involved at a young age I may have a future in the college ranks to one day be a head coach of a decent program. We'll see though, I'd much rather coach men, but because of title 9 there's twice the amount of women's college teams than guys so thats where most of the opportunities are.

If you read my first post about it I wanted to know if the German press had brought it up as the commentators had stated in last nights game, like I say the way the rule is now there is nothing stopping as an example the USA going round to every top quality player who hasn't played any full internationals to ask them to become American citizens.

I nted that that is what Mexico and a few other nations using Brazilians in their WC sides do. But all the players in the German side has a perfect right to be there because of their ethnicity, place of birth or where they were raised. We can blame the EU too for allowing the free movement of member citizens from country to country as they see fit. It really isnt possible here because of our immigration laws, unless the player has family who are already citizens.

So what? They still hold German citizenship or passports. That is all that matters.

Alot of the under 21 team could play for various nations, think I'm right in saying 4 of them where born outside Germnay and many have duel nationality.
The problem is where do you put all of them? The full German national team is not that old and many will be around for a long time to come.
Many will probably get impatient and rightfully so choose to play for a lesser national side simply because the German national club has no room for them.

It was a simple discussion on if the German media were bringing up the fact that most of these players wont even be playing for German in the future and such the German FA wasting money on training players for other countries, it wasn't a discussion on if Poland was part of Germany thousands of years ago or EU laws and such and next time I'll spend a few weeks reading up on laws of a country before I post a simple off the cuff example

Looks like it was a discussion of you trying to alibi away an England loss.

I'd say I'm 100% sure that I could rattle of every World Cup winner and the year and their opposition and even the score but you know what I couldn't even tell you who won the last under 21's European Championship.

What it does do is stoke the fire under an already intense rivalry. It really doesnt get any better. It matches Brazil v Argentina as the best rivalry in football.
