Worse still is the persistent rumors of high-profile players including Stevie G and Torres on their way out.

Once was a time when every manager in the world would be knocking at the Shankly Gates to take over them but now, nah. I'll be honest I personally don't really have someone in mind who could or would take over Benitez, most of the top managers wouldn't take over unless they were handed millions to spend.

There is Hodgson at Fulham who's done wonders but didn't do wonders at Blackburn, O'Neill but he's got about as much chance of taking Villa to 4th spot as he does with Liverpool the way they are at the moment, Hughes but would the Kop like a Man Utd legend as their manager.

imo big jump from Leeds to Everton league position wise and seems a bit of a sulker if it's not going his way.

I'm not a big fan of the Beckford signing. Everton needs quality at striker, not quantity. There's a real glut of average to mediocre strikers at Goodison (Yakubu, Saha, Vaughan, Beckford, Anichebe, this young Portuguese guy they're rumored to have signed, Jutkiewicz, Agard, Baxter), all competing for one spot, since the 4-5-1/4-2-3-1 is the favored formation. I suppose it'll be good to have that much depth after we get the mass of injuries that usually happens, but I don't really think Beckford improves the first team at all. To my mind, he's fourth or fifth on the depth chart.

The end of this season and the start of next season begins tomorrow with the 2010/11 fixtures announced, hopefully Wigan Athletic's first game of the season is away against someone like Man Utd and we can catch them cold, Boxing Day fixture would love it to be Newcastle Utd and final game of the season against Blackpool.
