I don't think this team has had a coach that had any clue about how to use their challenges since the challenge system came into being. It happened again in this game. Mangini challenges the touchdown catch, when there was nothing in the early replays that showed it would be overturned. No surprise, it was upheld. The problem was, they should have used it two plays earlier. On 2nd and 8, Palmer hit Coles near the sideline for a 4 yard gain. They didn't show a replay but right away I rewound it on my DVR and it certainly didn't look conclusive that he got both feet down before going out of bounds. They showed a better angle of that play during the next Bengal drive to recap the previous drive, and sure enough, that replay showed pretty clearly that the receiver had only one foot down in bounds. If it was challenged, it would have been overturned and would have made it 3rd and 8 instead of 3rd and 4.

What bothers me most about this team this season is how easy EVERY other team makes it look driving down the field on our defense, and how hard our offense makes it look to just get a first down against ANY other defense. Guh.

Gibson swings, and a fly ball to deep right field! This is gonna be a home run! Unbelievable! A home run for Gibson! And the Dodgers have won the game, 5 to 4; I don't believe what I just saw! I don't believe what I just saw!

TOUCHDOWN BROWNS!!

Won't see that too often. Looks like they'll take a little momentum into the half. Take away that Harrison fumble (why didn't they stop forward progress?) and you've got a tied game.

EDIT: And, fittingly, they reverse it. But then the Browns do score on the very next play. *WHEW!*

TOUCHDOWN BROWNS!

And not in garbage time in the 4th quarter while down by 30 points. Surprising.

And Massaquoi looks as though he is becoming Anderson's favorite target.

In defense of the referees, the Cinci fumble that wasn't called because of forward progress... first, his forward progress had been stopped for a bit longer than Harrison's. Plus, on the replay, it looked like his knee was down before the ball came out anyway.

Okay, that confused me. It was obvious the spot was bad on the 3rd down catch, but a time out was called by Cinci after they thought they had a first down and they put the clock at 22 seconds. Then the officials reviewed it, called it 4th down. Why wouldn't Cincinnati then say that if they knew it was 4th they wouldn't have called the time out? Then they could run the clock after the review and Cleveland would have to use their last time out if they wanted to have a shot at the punt? As it was, because the Browns had that last time out, they were able to get one last shot at the end zone. Didn't matter, but had they gotten lightning in a bottle (yes, I know it's the Browns), it would have meant a lot.

If there's a positive for the defense in this game, they've only given up 7 points so far.

Once again, a Browns coach playing it safe in the Red Zone and settling for field goals is going to lead to a Browns 1 point loss.

I took the Browns against the spread in this game, so if Cincy just wins by a FG, I win. However, with their field goal unit, why would they even attempt it if they had the chance?

Guh. Would a tie be better than a loss?

They haven't looked at a W for 47 weeks, so this is nothing new.
