The O's are going to lose 100 games this year, but their future looks bright. The Pirates farm system is ranked in the bottom third. The Mets could get ugly if the Wilpons are really hurting from the Madoff mess.
I'm going Pirates.

I'm not choosing the team with a winning record in 9 of the last 13 seasons, and 3 NLCS appearances (1 WS) in the past decade.
I'm also not choosing the team that has a lot of potential.. for hitters, anyway. So I'll pick the Pirates, who haven't had a winning season in 17 years - or even a current HOF player on their roster since 1982. But I'll also say that maybe 25 years from now I could be saying the same things about the Mets. |

The Pirates have been shattered since Fransico Cabrera's game winning single. There is no light at the end of this tunnel for quite a while.

I'll say the Pirates because at least the Mets and Orioles try. Meanwhile the Pirates seem to be satisfied sucking as long as they can turn a profit.
