Amazing stat:

Through the first twelve games the Colts, Saints and Bengals were a combined 33-3. Through the last four ... 4-8.
Throw the Vikings in that and the 4 of them were 43-5. And finished 6-10.

Serves them right after that turd they laid last week. I told you they would anger the football gods and I was right.

Good season though. They made a lot of progress this year. The only thing they need now is Carson Palmer to start acting like an All-Pro QB again.

Cedric Benson helped revitalize that team. He also helped my fantasy football team.

bengals are product of a week schedule/ huge luck. lets break it down:

6-0 vs their own division: 2 wins, one vs bal, and one vs PIT was extremely luckily and only because of fatal mistakes by opposition. baltimore lost the one because of two personal fouls in a row, which had not been for it, would have ended and won the game. The PIT game they completely outplayed the bengals, but LIMAS SWEDE drops a WIDE OPEN TD pass after burning bengal D. That drop proved fatal

4-6 vs the rest of the league, one a completely embarrassing outing vs the jets. 27-0 before the first string was finally yanked.

only ONE of those wins was from a team over .500

they had no business in the playoffs. noone is suprised they are one and done

Well, that was only one season. The rest of his career has been ok. I liken him to Jim Everett. Solid, you can win with him but nothing special. I've never seen the "budding All-Pro, Elite, Hall of Fame" QB others have seen in him.

All that matters is wins and losses. No one'll remember the circumstances when the season is over. Doesn't matter that the Ravens and Steelers ALMOST beat them. The fact is, they didn't. ALMOST ain't ever good enough. The Bengals deserved to be in the playoffs.

However, at 9-3 the Bengals had a chance to be the #2 seed in the AFC but from the Vikings game onwards failed to show up. I don't know if the players and coaching staff started getting negative or what, but they weren't the same team from week fourteen through until now.

It really, really sucks that they allowed a team that was led by a rookie QB dominate them in their own backyard. Sucks even more that the Ravens did the same to the Patriots and have moved on to week two.
