I think I've already prepared myself to his leaving eventually thinking, "it wouldn't be a big deal if it didn't happen."

That said, a Joe Mauer jersey (which I've always refused in the past) may be on the horizon.

Some of the Twins Target Field menu has been released

A taste of Minnesota at new ballpark | StarTribune.com

They better find a way to keep or rename the dome dog. Easily the best hot dog Ive ever had athough the Chicago Style dog at US Cellular is great as well.

Kind of what I was wondering I assume they are planning on
LF Young
CF Span
RF Cuddyer
DH Kubel

Perhaps Kubel plays left vs Rightys and Thome DH's. I guess I can think of bigger needs but they didnt pay a whole lot for him so it seems ok.

Huge news for the Twins

Twins have framework on Mauer deal? - MLB- nbcsports.msnbc.com

Sounds like the Mauer extension is all but complete.

This would, indeed, be great news for the Twins.

Orlando Hudson!!!!? Holy crap, I thought we were going to bat Punto cleanup or something. Not seeing him in the lineup every day brings me a joy probably on par with Mauer getting signed for a reasonable price.

It's not final yet so don't get too happy.

Had a chance to trade for Dan Uggla, but would rather have Orlando Hudson???

OHud- 32
DUggla- 30

121 homeruns in 4 vs 77 in 8
.826 OPS vs .778

I could go on and on, but Dan Uggla wins pretty much everything.

Dan Uggla wins pretty much everything except you have to give something up to get him. O-Dog is an FA, you don't lose any talent out of your organization by signing him. He might not have the power or OPS of Uggla, but he's a good everyday option at 2B.

Id take Orlando. He fits the Twins system much better. No defense strike out prone infielders isnt a trademark Id like the Twins to adopt.

I'd take Hudson too.

Sounds like the deal is done

Minnesota Twins Rumors: MLB Rumors - MLBTradeRumors.com

So far so good this offseason. I would like them to sign something for the bullpen though.

Span
Hudson
Mauer
Morneau
Cuddyer
Kubel
Young/Thome
Hardy
Punto/Harris

looks nice on paper

Now we fix this
SP Baker
SP Slowey
SP Pavano
SP Swarzek/Duesing
SP Blackburn

or this
RP Liriano
RP Rauch
RP Neshek
RP Mijares
RP Guerreer

and we have a WS contender.

Injury Prone!

Of course he stayed healthy he could be the "ace" type pitcher we need.
