great series. looking forward to philly and the "amtrak series" or whatever garbage the papers are calling it. should be a good series with 2 well rounded teams.
btw, a side note, the twins and angels are supposedly 2 of the better "small ball" teams, however both teams made major mental errors which, had they not made, these series could have been very different. yanks only had 1 bonehead play so far, when cano and posada were at third together. |

Congratulations to the Angels and the fans.
Not really the ending you had hoped to see I am sure, but it was a great season!

It was an excellent series and the better team won. As much as I hate the Yankees, the Angels just didn't play well enough and that Yankee lineup is just too much to handle.
Go Phillies!!!

From a Red Sox fan, congrats to the Yankee fans! Represent the AL well! Beat the Phillies!

I know, I can't believe it either. I just never liked the Phillies for some reason, and as strange as it sounds, I feel like I hate the Yankees less these days since I now know how it feels to have seemingly the whole country against your team and accusing networks of constantly covering them out of jealousy

Yeah, it's sad but the Yankees are a strong, strong team this year. Grats to them. I'm happy that at least we beat the Red Sox finally

Entertaining series for sure. Plenty of drama to go around. I'm a little disappointed the Angels didn't hit better. When your two best hitters are Mathis and Kendrick, you probably aren't going to win many ALCS games.

so far it seems like most are rooting for the yanks over the phills for the simple fact that the phills are their rival whereas they just hate the yanks. |

I know you guys are kidding, but there really isn't anything wrong in rooting for the AL (or NL), once your team is out. If anything, I want the team that bounced or kept me out of the playoffs to do well so that my team doesn't look so bad! Previous years, I pulled for the BoSox after the Yanks were eliminated. This rabid rivalry stuff is overdone, really. But hey, if it makes you feel better to hate New York and/or the Yankees, go right ahead.

Rooting for the Yankees. There is a small trend going on for the last several years. The past 4 world series winners (2005 ~ 2008) all had at least one Japanese player on the roster. 2005 (CWS) Iguchi 2006 (STL) Taguchi 2007 (BOS) Matsuzaka / Okajima 2008 (PHI) Taguchi Actually, someone in Cubs organization must have realized this, and hired Taguchi (2 time WS winner, who probably had about total 20 minutes playing time in the 2 series ) this year.Cubs did not reach the play off, because they did not put Taguchi on active roster until late September! ![]() Now there is only one Japanese player who will play in the world series this year, and it is Matsui.
