This should be an interesting and juicy story to follow. I wonder if it will impact how the Dodgers prepare for 2010? |

I think the Dodgers' ability to compete in the NL West is going to start plummeting. That's what made losing this year in the NLCS especially tough.

I don't think the NL West is as weak as people think it is. The Rockies won the wildcard this year. The Giants would have if they had a big bat to protect Sandoval. The D'Backs got hurt by injuries this year and will definitely be better next year when Webb is back. The Padres stink, but some of their new young talent looks promising.

We definitely could use a better shortstop offensively, but when Furcal and O-Dog were up the middle it was an amazing defensive combination. It's easy to say to upgrade parts, but there aren't many better parts available. Also, I'm positive Frank and Jaime's messy divorce is going to cripple the team in some way. If Ethier gets traded, I stop following the Dodgers.
