FFB Choice of the Week

Yeah this is my first year playing FFB. That's why I'm so active on these boards with it I guess.

4 leagues and I'm 6-0, 5-1, 4-2, 4-2 so far.

This week's difficult choice is between Rashard Mendenhall and Glen Coffee. Which do I start in my WR/RB flex spot to compliment Deangelo Williams and Frank Gore? I also have Pierre Thomas on the bench.

Espn's projection blurbs...

Mendenhall vs. MIN: Even with Willie Parker back last week, Mendenhall still put up a solid 11-point performance, and got 17 carries in the process. Now that coach Mike Tomlin has reportedly admitted that Mendenhall will remain the lead guy, we like Rashard to put up the better numbers against the Williams Wall, though if he doesn't manage to score, it could be ugly for all the Pittsburgh backs.

Coffee vs. HOU: His fantasy value this week is closely tied to Frank Gore's health; if Gore is limited or worked in slowly during midweek practices, then it's possible Coffee might share carries with him to some degree. Considering they'll both be battling a sorry Texans run defense, there's flex-play appeal for Coffee if Gore appears limited heading into the week.

Thomas vs. MIA: All of the headaches a matchup with the Dolphins' run defense creates fall entirely upon Thomas' shoulders. This defense ranks third in terms of fewest yards per game allowed, and Thomas, of course, is more yardage than touchdown guy for the Saints at this point. Oh, those dreaded committees, how they can kill a back's fantasy potential in matchups like these.

Medenhall. Why would you compliment Gore with Coffee? Coffee shouldn't play that much if Gore is back.

I don't think Pitt will be running much against the Vikes. With Winfield out (or likely out), Pitt should be passing non-stop.

Thomas is playing against the Dolphins and Mike bell got all of the red zone carries last week. Not him!

Gore is coming back in SF. If they use him like they did before the ankle, just say no to Coffee.

Mendenhall has done much better than Parker this year. I believe he is #1 in Pittsburgh. Gotta go with him.

Mendenhall got 4, would have been more if not for the fumble.

Coffee got 0.

Thomas has 4, with 8 minutes left in the game. His team ahead by 3 and MIA has the ball.

Brees is my starter at QB in another league. I need lots of points in the final drive. I'm behind 76 to 99.

I have NYG/D and Santana Moss left to play.

My opponent has Ahmad Bradshaw.

Really need a Brees TD here.

Edit: !@#$%, 4th and 2 on the goal line.

Edit: !@#$%, field goal. Why not go for a QB sneak and then if you don't make it the other team has to go 98 or 99 yards to win??!

Edit: Now I need a MIA TD with some time left, so that Brees has to come back out gunning.

Edit: Dangit, intercepted for a New Orleans TD. No more points for me. And all Brees needed was a 2 yard pass to get 1 more point. I need all I can get! 77 to 99 going into the 8:30 game.

Edit: Oh, that 2 point conversion attempt would have helped a lot. Too bad.
