Can I say, "I told you so" or do I have to be pissed about this loss.
Cause Jackson is a freaking joke...absolutely terrible.

3-5 year period of being terrible? In their entire existence they havent had a 3-5 year period of being terrible and they had no where near the talent they have now. I guess Im not sure how youd project that. They will likely get a top 10 pick this year and add one of the 4 great QBs in this years draft. They are actually picking a great year to suck. |

1. NFL will do everything it can to keep them in Minnesota 2. Minnesota will eventually bend 3. Zygi isnt that type of owner. He is just trying to leverage a new stadium. He is a fans owner all the way. Minneapolis passed a no tailgating ordinance so Zygi just bought up all the parking lots around the dome so fans could continue their traditions. 4. There are NFL cities right now that arent even selling out their games. Last edited by jbergey22; 12-14-2010 at 01:56 AM. |

1981-1986: Vikings 39-50 (1 playoff appearance in the the strike shortened 82) 2001-2007: Vikings 51-61 (1 Playoff appearance) Now you can say 2001 to 2007 isn't terrible, but when you are in a division where 6-10 gets you second place and you don't finish first, you are at least bad. So two terrible stretches and 1 bad stretch.

In the other stretches you mentioned they had playoff appearances and were basically a .500 team if you take away the 1 bad year in that stretch. I guess I dont see that as terrible. They have been one of the most consistent winners the NFL has seen. They have made the playoffs 26 times in their history. 1981 7-9 1982 5-4* 1983 8-8 1984 3-13 1985 7-9 1986 9-7 Basically an average team with 1 bad year right in the middle. 2001 5-11 2002 6-10 2003 9-7 2004 8-8* 2005 9-7 2006 6-10 2007 8-8 There worst stretch since the expansion years having 2 terrible years followed by a season where they missed the playoffs by giving up a fluke TD to Arizona at the end of the game. But again Im not seeing this as terrible because A:They had a playoff appearance B:They were within a game 2 other years. I guess when I think of terrible I think of the Lions or Bills right now. I cant find a stretch where the Vikings have been that bad for 3-5 years. Last edited by jbergey22; 12-14-2010 at 02:06 PM. |

Buffalo is probably the most likely. I always thought Jacksonville would be the prime suspect to move, but they just got a new naming deal and started to sell out their games.
"On July 26, 2010, naming rights to the stadium were bought by EverBank,[20] one of the nation's largest privately-held bank holding companies with approximately $11.2 billion in assets. On August 10, the deal was officially approved by the Jacksonville City Council with a 14-3 vote.[21] During the Jaguars' off-season, the team not only managed to retain more than 90% of their season ticket holders, but also managed to acquire at least 13,000 new season ticket holders according to the "fuel gauge" meter that was constantly present on the team's website during the off-season. On September 12, 2010, those numbers were proven to be correct as the Jaguars opened up their 2010 season to a total of 63,636 out of 67,164 tickets distributed in their season opener against the Denver Broncos, which they won 24-17.[22]"

And ya I see Buffalo as probably the best chance for moving, although if you believe the Toronto media they're almost a shoe-in for making their home in the Skydome. Never mind that ticket sales have been worse then they have been for Buffalo, a stadium that is on the low end for seating, can't be expanded at all, and is competing against a metropolitan marketplace that is twice it's size (and in the right country). Frankly I'd like to see the BIlls stay where they are, although if they moved to LA, it'd be wonderful to hear the talk about them coming to Toronto die once and for all. Plus anything that ruins Rogers's dream is nice too.

Heard the Metrodome was inflated today with the hot air coming from St. Paul.
(To understand joke, you'll need to know Minnesota politics).
