I dislike the Steelers. If there's one team in all of professional sports that always gets the call when it counts...its them.

Welcome to Superbowl 40-like "fun", Minnesota.

Must have really sucked for Hutcheson if there really was bad calls (I didn't watch it). He was on the receiving end in that Superbowl.

Yeah, that's one thing I don't understand....

How come Pittsburgh always seems to play these big games at home? They're like a college football factory that plays 2/3rds home games. This isn't the BCS!

I see it all the time with any Minnesota team. The Twins are always better in the fans eyes than the rest of the world. You see your team as 1 interception away from being 7-0. The rest of the world who don't wear the same glasses you guys do, see the team as 2 plays away from being 4-3. It is the reality of it. You guys just don't live in it.
Well of course we're going to see our team like that. Every fan of every team is going to be like that. I haven't watched other teams this season to compare but I'm sure the same can be said about every team. All sports comes down to inches or one play, it's who can take advantage of the play and convert.

Every team should be better in their fans eyes than in non fans eyes. Part of being a good team is finding ways to win and that's why I believe we found ways to win and that's why we're 6-1, where we deserve to be.

Everyone defends the other team when the Vikings win but why is no one defending the Vikings when they're one play away from winning. The fact that I see this on every forum I go leads me to believe that this is more than just seeing things through a different shade of glasses but it's rather everyone's dislike of Brett Favre and the amount of media attention we get. Just look at this thread, the Vikings finally lose and we get a "Poor Vikings" thread yet whenever any other team loses, you don't see a thread devoted towards them.

No. Not every fan of other teams are like that. That is my point. For instance, I am a fan of Florida. I understand that my team hasn't played like the number 1 team in the nation. I understand they shouldn't be ranked number one. If somebody told me that, I wouldn't hym and haw and say that they are just jealous. But if I were to tell you that your team did not play like an undefeated team this whole season, you would a) say I am jealous. b) tell me that I know nothing about football. Which by the way happened in this thread for pointing out the obvious.

I see your point. I understand the Gophers suck in football this year, I understand the T-Wolves will be lucky to get 30 wins, I understand the Twins did not deserve to beat the Yankees and were extremely luck to even be in the playoffs. But the Vikings do deserve to be 6-1. Florida has dominated the past three years so you know what it's like to have a winning team. The Vikings have not been a great team for a while so to see everything come together like this is exciting. No one's saying the Vikings are the best team in the league, that would be the Saints. But we are a top 5 team and a top 5 team should have a 6-1 record or around there. The Broncos sure haven't played like an undefeated team this year but there they are and congrats to them, even the Pats had their bad games when they went undefeated but they found ways to win which is what the Vikings have done this year.

I know there a lot of ignorant Vikings fans out there but if you have actually watched every minute of every game like I have then you will know their 6-1 is pretty well deserved. They are a better team then everyone they beat and they are a worse team than the Steelers right now.

Full disclosure, I'm a Packers fan. I guess I should have pointed that out (since I don't venture much onto this board) before I bothered to say anything else in this thread

You were impressed by the 34 points they gave up to an average team? Interesting.

The Vikings outplayed a tough Pitt team in Pitt while the Saints looked average against an average AFC team. Not sure how today means the Saints improved their situation over the Vikings. Vikings were 5 point dogs going in to the game so they really werent expected to win.

Whats the point?

Vikings and Giants are the two best teams in the NFC. Saints have the best offense in the NFL. During the playoffs I want balance as you never know what weather you could be playing in.

I dont believe I did either. Id say the Colts/Pats. Vikings/Giants in the NFC.

Saints dont get my vote because they are gimmicky. Gimmicky teams tend to lose in the playoffs.

I've lived here all of two years. Spent most of my life in California and four years in Colorado. I don't have the native rivalry in my blood.

Judging who is the best when the teams only common opponent is the Lions. You could make a case for the Saints or Vikings or even the Giants right now, it all depends what you look for in deciding who's the best.

The reason Vikings fans get so upset and these kind of posts is because everyone acts like we aren't even a top 10 team in the league. We were nearly a top 10 last year with the worst starting QB in the league, add a future HOF and we still aren't in the top 10? Crazy. We have a top 7 QB, arguable the best RB, arguably the best O-Line (top 3 at worst), a top 3 DE, IMO the best DT, a top 5-7 MLB, a very good OLB in Greenway and a Pro Bowl CB in Winfield. The team is no slouch and we at least deserve to be in the same conversation as the Saints even though the Saints should be leading that conversation right now.

What are you talking about? Vikings are in the top 10 in the ESPN power ranking since the training camp edition.

The reason Vikings fans get so upset is just like fans of most other teams: loving to play the victim/underdog/no respect role.

Broncos fans and Saints fans have a much more legitimate argument than Viking fans to talk about this kind of things, since they are much bigger surprises.

I wasn't talking about the media, we're pretty well represented there. I meant fans of other teams. It's not bad on this forum because there are civilized discussions here but on another forum I go to, it's a Vikings bashfest and they are the ones saying they aren't a top 10 team.

I just got done posting at that forum when I made my previous couple posts so I was a little wound up from over there.

But it's not that different. Go check NFL fan rankings. Vikings was 10th at the preseason (matching the expert pick on that website), and was 4th after week 6.

Team bashing happens to every single team. You only felt for the Vikings because you are a fan. There are always people who simply want to talk trash.

I was impressed by the beating they gave to the Giants last week. I wasn't impressed by a loss, no matter how valiant an effort the Vikings gave it. If nothing else, it puts them behind the eight ball for home field advantage, and that's enough to give the Saints the edge.
