Why anyone still pitches to ultey down and in is beyond me. You go low and away even if it means potentially missing the plate or leaving over the middle a bit. Either way as I said before on here barring injury Utley is a lock for the hall in about another 4 seasons.
The question is, and here's the interesting thing, do you think it's possible that even if the yankees win the series Utley is the MVP of it? Does any guru on here know if that's ever been done before? |

Blanton's ERA was 6 the other night, that's a bad outing, there is absolutely no way around it. |

yuck, lol. Looks like i was wrong, and the Phillies offense will be the one exploding all night long. That sucks
Definitely a good game for the Phillies and their fans though, have to give credit where it is due. Maybe we will be able to get to the bullpen though (fingers crossed again). Goody, seriously dude you always sound like you are whining when you bring up the payroll, it gets old. Just saying lol. Anyways though, just my opinion, no offense meant, just commenting on it...lol anyways, GO YANKEES!!!!......

P.S. and everything you are saying Phightin is exactly right, Utley is a beast. I didn't realize how good he was until this series, now i completely hate him (in a good, prejudiced fan kind of way hahaha)

Here's the box score. While the 6 era looks bad on the stat sheet when you look at the total numbers his performance basically matched CC's. He allowed 5 hits 4 earned 2 walks and struck out 7 through 6. While it isn't great like a said before the way the game played out it was serviceable overall and he matched his opposing pitcher. |

You don't hope for "serviceable" in a must win World Series game. Once again my point is being made for me. This isn't the middle of June against the Nationals. You're playing for all the marbles and serviceable doesn't cut it on most nights in these types of situations.
Blanton was probably the least likely starter in their rotation to throw a gem type of performance, they needed to put a pitcher on the mound capable of such an outing and they had one available to them and chose not to use him. I hope like hell they can finish this one off. I think a Game 6 might be harder to win than a Game 7. Game 7 will have all the pressure on the Yankees, the fans will be nervous, and Sabathia hasn't exactly been dominant. The Hamels dynamic if there was to be a Game 7 would be very interesting as well. |

Tried to post this a few minutes ago but put it in the wrong thread.
Sorry, but I have to say it... Why wasn't Francisco in left field there? That's basically a harmless fly ball if he's out there like he should be with a 6-run lead in the 8th inning. I'm not going to continue to post every little thing that Manuel screws up (there are so many obvious examples it's not even funny) so I will make that my last post regarding Charlie for this series but that is Baseball 101 right there. It's as obvious a move as you can make. |

dang
jinxed that one a bit I think....Good game though, Phillies have to be happy with how they played, and personally as a Yankees fan I am really happy that the Yankees fought back, definitely keeps you from losing any confidence in the team. If a game 5 loss in the WS can feel like a moral victory, i think this one kind of does.....

Cliff Lee is just awesome, what a warrior. He was just asked if he'd be able to pitch if there was a game 7 and without hesitation he said he'd be ready to go no doubt about it.Such a difference between him and #35 who refuses to pitch on anything less than full rest.
