I honestly hope I've seen the last of Hamels for the season. Let him go worry about his next horrendous comcast commercial or having another kid. When you have guys on the team like Lee and Utley it just makes him look that much worse.

Obviously I hope there's a game 7 but it makes me a little nervous because of Hamels.

If Charlie pitches him and Hamels gets rocked, he looks like a fool for throwing him out there when he's been hammered in every single start this post-season.

If he doesn't pitch him, you have to wonder what that does to Hamels' psyche knowing that his manager didn't have enough confidence to throw him in a Game 7 on full rest.

Yeah I agree. But I can't let this one go. I'll just keep pounding in into the ground like I do with the Wal-mart R Bad campaign. Certain things that seem good to those who think they are benefitting, just aren't good overall.

Lee said he's ready to go and he will be if they need him. They could start Blanton or Happ and let either be backed up by Lee or just throw the dice and start Lee again. Game 7 so all bets are off at this point. I don't see how you could put Hamels out there. His head, heart, and talent isnt there and charlie's more damned if he puts him out there than if he doesn't. I don't care about Hamels psyche. When a guy says to the media "I honestly can't wait for it to be over" regarding his season he's ended it for himself before he even goes out there again.

As far as everything else though people in philly, the media, the radio etc are all on cloud 9 right now about the phillies chances but I'm still a little more realistic about them going into New York and taking 2 in a row. If they can get to game 7 than I love their chances but game 6 is going to be tough.

Phillies & Yankees have put together an incredible World Series so far, but there's no way I want to see a 7th game lol. GO Yankees and end it in 6, PLEASE! lol. Very good series. Phillies deserve a lot of credit too, it really has been a great series, much better than any in several years in my opinion, but yea I am sure I am bias cause my team hasn't been there in awhile, so I haven't had as much interest in one in a long while. Lee has done some really good pitching though for the phillies, and Ive been pleased with Burnett's first start the other night, and Pettitte's was awesome too. CC has been shaky both outings, but has gotten the job done as well. Good stuff. I do think it might be a blessing in disguise though that the Yankees didn't have to bring Rivera out there to close it out tonight and now he will be very well rested for game 6. I guess that is the best thing to take from this loss tonight.

He's probably thrilled to be playing baseball past September.

Lee went on full days rest, and no they won't start him in Game 7 on just 2 days rest. Though he will be in the pen.

This is what I envision too. With a short leash on Hamels (or whoever).

dola,

I'm also psyched about another outing for Pedro in Yankee Stadium. I am rooting for him to just lock them up with every fiber of my being.

Now that there is a game 6, I'm going out on my Nostradamus limb and say the Howard I've been hounding thus far will make the difference Wednesday night. Now that he has tied the K record for WS, that's not hanging over his head any longer. Time to shake it off and find the new groove.

If he makes the difference by striking out 4 times, I'll be rooting with ya

Pettitte on 3 days rest makes me very nervous. I also would have started Gaudin last night so AJ could have full rest in game 6 if necessary. Now, he's kinda forced to throw Pettitte out there on short rest. At least he knows he can count on Aceves if Pettitte doesn't look sharp so he can have a short leash.

If you told me before the game that the Yanks would score 6 runs, I would have never guessed that there would be a game 6. *sigh*, at least the Yankees made it a game.

Answer -- So much that we can get our legs tied together, walking 3 legged for the rest of our lives and I'd love it.

Reminds me of the 97 World Series when Leyland was forced to start a very erratic Al Leiter vs. The Tribe with a VERY SHORT HOOK but Leiter ended up doing well.

Oh sure, rub it in

Hamels could certainly pitch similarly. The lefties certainly have an advantage over the Yankee lineup as long as Jeter and A-Rod don't kill you.

I don't mind Pettitte on short rest, I think he will do just fine....maybe its just blind faith in him though? No, I think it will be fine, I can imagine him giving us 6+ innings, maybe giving up 3 runs, and I definitely think we can handle that and hit Pedro pretty hard. I like Pedro a lot, but I don't think he is going to be sharp in the bronx again, just a feeling I have. I could be, and very likely am, an idiot lol....

past 48 hours have felt like 100. What a series. Pedro has to come out strong and keep them in the game. If he can do that and the phils can grab an early lead i love their chances. Either of these dont happen it's gonna be trouble. Quick tip to Joey G, if you pitch to Ultey down and in, it's going out.

Was feeling 50-50 about tonight, until I saw the NY papers with pictures of Pedro in a diaper and headlines of "Whos Your Daddy". Now that 50-50 has gone down to idk, 25-75. Just a feeling, hope im wrong.

Lets Go Yanks!

I'm a Sox fan so obviously rooting for Philly but for some reason I've been feeling Cano & Tex will be the difference for the Yanks tonight. They've got to be due for some big hits.
