I just want to say, I'm a Yankee fan and I'm glad that we won, but the Phils still have the better stadium. I was there three years ago, and that place is beautiful!

The Phillies were a heck of a team and a pain for the Yankees to beat. I'm glad that we were fortunate to get the victory this year. The Philadelphia Phillies have nothing to be ashamed of, and I wouldn't be surprised to see them back in the Fall Classic next year.

Yankees still suck and are still bad for baseball.

I'd congratulate them, but then again they did spend $1.75 million per win if you count the postseason, which is pretty bad.

As one of the biggest Yankee haters out there(maybe not as big as some Red Sox fans), I am here to congratulate the Yankee fans. We Angel fans had our run of dominance over the Yankees and I got much pleasure out of beating them, regular season and post season this past decade. But the law of averages and a billion and a half dollars spent since their last WS title in 2000 said that they had to get one sooner or later. Well here it is Yankee fans. Enjoy it!

Well played to the Yankees and the Phillies as well. I think the one thing the last ten years show though is that it won't be their turn next year.

Given the way they came back from the start of the season they fully deserved the WS this year. Just hope we can challenge again next season.

Just hope you lot don't go and try and sign Bay...

I could say that the 2006 Cards sucked big time and won the WS - sixteen teams this season had a better record...

A team that wins 100+ can not be said to suck...

Congrats Yankees fans. As easy it is to say, "Oh, just another purchased championship" or "The best team money can buy!" the last eight years show that winning the World Series is not easy no matter how much money you spend. The fact that it was the first ring for the majority of those guys also makes it a little easier to be OK with this.

Just don't do it again next year though.

I disagree. I think the Yankees have reloaded for some continued success for a few years. CC and Burnett and Tex and really ARod are All Stars in the prime of their careers. (OK Burnett and All Star is a stretch, but you get my point). Sure they will have to replace the second tier players like Damon and Posada and Pettitte and Matsui and Rivera over the next couple years, but they can do that. I think they spent their money smartly this time around. If they can do that again replacing the above guys, I think they can be pretty dominate again for 3+ years.

I think the Red Sox are the ones that are more in a rebuilding/reloading mode.

Get over yourself. The Phils played like crap and they showed no heart. If you want to self-delude yourself that they were somehow worthy opponents in this World Series go ahead. Some of us know how to watch them without rose colored glasses on. Outside of Utley, this team played like they didn't want it...like making it to the Series was enough.

Congrats Yanks fans, but to paraphrase (or, to take out all the cursing) Doug Stanhope:

"Rooting for the Yankees is like going to a casino and rooting for the house and being obnoxious about it. 'OooooH The Dealer Busted your ass, Yeahhhhh Thats My Dealer. Whoooo!'"

What they turned into? Oh, you mean not up to the Yanks' level at this point in time? Come on, let's call it what it was. They werent able to compete with the Yankees over the life of the series for obvious reasons--none of which was heart or 'want it'.

I thought they battled in pretty much every game. They were outmatched this series with how poorly Hamels has pitched and the Yankees left handed pitching against the stacked left handed lineup of the Phillies. I didnt see a lack of effort so Im not sure what this comment is suppose to mean.

The Yankees have made almost everyone look outmatched since May, does this mean no one in the league gave a noble effort this year?

If Hamels reflects the rest of the team you could make a case otherwise Im not sure what tree you are barking at.

I also disagree. They missed the playoffs ONCE in that span. If playing OOTP has taught me anything, its that the playoffs can be a crapshoot.

This year, the Yankees clearly were the best team, but they also spent their money well. As a fan of teams who spend their money well, I congratulate them. As a fan who hates the fact that they spend a lot more than any other team in baseball, I'm not so happy.
