as far as the match-ups go I think Lee pitches game 5, pedro in game 6, and then depending on what happens you either go with Happ or let Lee pull a Beckett and pitch on 2 days rest if he can. I wouldn't have a problem with Happ though. Rookie of the year pitching game 7 in yankee stadium would be a good story line too.

My lineup with the current team would be:

Werth
Utley
Ibanez
Howard
Victorino
Ruiz
Rollins
Feliz

Although if it were my call, I'd go for an entirely different left side of the infield.
I don't follow the Phillies real closely but it is pretty bold to criticize the managing so vehemently when the team has been in the World Series two years in a row. (without paying 200 million)

Good point. I dont see a problem with the lineup. I guess Im not sure who else who bat leadoff other than Rollins. Switch Victorino and Rollins would be about the only thing he could do differently.

If CC comes through tonight, i'd definatly be tempted to save AJ for game 6 and throw gaudin out there and hope he can put together 6 decent innings and keep the pen fresh. Basically, sacraficing game 5 and lee's start with the assumption you can win game 6(AJ on full rest) or 7(CC on short rest but proven to be successful so far like that). Guess we'll see what happens tonight.

LETS GO YANKS!!!

Its been proven that lineups really make little difference over the course of a season however this is just bad. You have 3 leftys in a row and no protection for Howard. It would certainly be easy to manage a bullpen against this lineup.

come on jorge, gotta come through for us. bobbled the ball on the howard SB when a decent throw and it woulda been close. then damon's throw beats howard but he cant hold on and howard scores. lets go guys, get somethin goin.

So Howard doesn't touch home plate...I didn't see a safe call from the umpire. Did the Yankees miss a chance to appeal? Or was there a call by the umpire...

after CC threw down to 2nd, home plate ump called howard safe. woulda been interesting if CC went to tag howard, but we wont know

Ok, 6 solid innings from CC. Pinch hit for him to lead off the 7th and bring in Chamberlain or Marte for the 7th. Chamberlain, Robertson, Marte (never thought I'd say that) and Coke should be solid enough to get 2 innings of work in to get to Mariano.

I'm done watching tonight. If a miracle happens, so be it and I'll have a pleasant surprise in the morning. All the media torment of A-Rod and Ryan Howard's been largely ignored, but in the end, I put the onus on him for not producing for the Phillies in this series. Yes, there's been some great pitching, but not unlike what he's faced all year long and still managed to drive in runs and hit the long ball. It's a choke, plain and simple. The single tonight and the rather lucky stolen base 'may' give him some impetus, but I doubt it.

Something's been missing more than his performance. Frankly, I don't even see his heart in this series.

That's about it. Outside of Utley it doesn't seem anyone on the Phillies batting order wants to win.
