MLB Officials Not Only Ones to Make HUGE Mistakes

During the bEagles/Redskins game, during a kickoff return they call a penalty, initially saying its on the Skins offsetting a nice return(to around the 43) taking it back to the Skins 12. However, after waiting through the TV timeout and just as the skins are about to snap it, the officials suddenly realize that the penalty was actually on the bEagles and instead move the ball all the way to around the bEagles 45. Essentially, about a 45 yard difference in where the drive starts.

side not, am i the only one that finds gruden in the booth horrible and annoying? they cut to jaws and the other announcer talking, and hes just sitting there trying to scrowl but instead almost cracking up a few times. its like they tell him before cutting to them "dont talk, just keep up your Chucky gimmick and look like you're pissed off"

Your example would be better if it was the NFL playoffs, but I hear ya. The NHL has been running a clinic on bad, horrid, and downright chaotic officiating for years now, especialyl in the playoffs.

"After first raising one hand (as if to indicate that the quarterback was down), Hittner raised a second arm to signal a touchdown. The play stood after instant replay review. Hittner later said about the play, "That was probably the closest goal-line call I've ever had. Jeez, that was close. My mechanics were not the best on that. I thought 'touchdown' in my head, and then I went up with one arm, which means the play is over, but I should have gone with two arms."

He was thinking "touchdown" before the ball was even snapped...is what he means to say.
