Watched a programme a year or two ago and there was one guy on who was a train driver and had been in this same situation, he ended up having months off to get over it, went back to work and looked like a ghost then quit because he couldn't do the job anymore I'm sure if you asked the driver he would say different to what your saying imo.

That's not really about training and what's the right procedure. It's just about surprises that could lead to unwanted reactions.
