FFB Question of the Week
Who benched DeAngelo Williams in order to play RICKY Williams? Good did! Woo hoo...
But here's the question. If you had Cedric Benson, Michael Turner or even Julius Jones on your team...all down with varying injuries...who do you get to fill their spot? Larry Johnson (who was dropped in most leagues but might be picked up in most by now) Benson's previous backup. What's his name? Justin Forsett? Seattle could be looking for a reason to give him J.Jones' job permanently...even if he does come back. Forsett can catch too...in an offense that has been forced to pretty much give up the running game most of the time. Who else?

Add Portis, Westbrook, and Ronnie Brown to that list while you're at it.
I guess it depends on the size of your league, and depth of the rosters. If you can pick up Forsett in your league.. certainly a nice choice. He's getting worked into the offensive gameplan more and more, even with Julius on the field. Larry Johnson is a good choice as well, I find it tough to believe they'd pick up such a headache (especially on THAT team) without plans to make him a part of the weekly scheme, with or without Benson. In really deep leagues Leonard Weaver may still be out there. He posted one nice week with Westbrook out. Until Jerious Norwood AND Michael Turner come back.. Aaron Stecker may see a few carries. Between getting cut and resigned every other day. =) Chad Simpson does some return work for the Colts, and showed enough on Sunday Night that he may pull some carries away from #2 RB Donald Brown. Still, the Colts aren't exactly a running team - but if you're desperate, it's something. W/R is the most likely position for anyone who had Benson and Julius Jones. These aren't really backs that you pick up (in the original draft) with the plan that they'll produce enough to be your #2 or #3 RB. Flexing out to a guy like Mike Thomas (Jax) in a league that has a low return yard value isn't a bad idea. |

Forsett long term is the best solution athough I dont think he will do much this week against the Vikings. He also fairs very well on the football outsiders RB report.
Larry Johnson isnt close to the back he was so I think that is a dangerous way to go. He is 3rd or 4th worst in average yards per carry in NFL history with guys over 150 carries. Betts from Washington would be a good choice for this week while Forsett to finish the year. Benard Scott is the Bengals current backup but he looks slow and Im not real impressed by him either. If you can still trade Beanie Wells looks like he could end the year very strong. |

Agreed he's nowhere near a good RB anymore. But I'm not sure the rest can possibly be right? He was averaging 4.53 yds/carry prior to this season, and is currently 90th career (17th active) in yards per carry with 4.36.

Im sorry,I wasnt real clear with that. What I meant to say is for this year only he has the 3rd or 4th worst in season yard per carry average in NFL history of any person with over 150 attempts.
