Notice how the thread title hath no dates attached--it's because the thread is meant to be timeless, just like our beloved franchise. Without further ado, I welcome all Cheeseheads to the Official Green Bay Packers Thread of the OOTP Forums! |

Cool, I don't remember there being one of these before.
I didn't want to start it being that my green & gold name is really for the A's. But I'm really looking forward to the Pack this season. Time to build on last year and really make a run for it. |

Aaron Rodgers is a stud. As a Vikings fan I hate the Bears much worse than the Packers for some reason. Its probably because Packer fans dont annoy me nearly as much. Id be very happy if both the Vikings and the Packers made the playoffs again this year and Jay Cutler sucks again.

I don't hate the Vikings. I just hate Favre. I am an Aaron Rodgers-era Packers fan - we moved here in '07 just in time for Favre's last season in Green Bay and I found him really annoying. Started rooting hard for the Packers once Rodgers took over.

Well, Favre and Cutler are my 2 least favorite QBs. So, maybe I should be a default Packer this year.

Not unless they can find a mule who can kick 100-yard FGs

I hope the Packers go 14-2 with both losses to Favre and the Vikings. I'm so tired of hearing everyone complain about Favre that I am actually a huge Favre fan now after not liking him when he was in Green Bay. I was the one guy that wanted Ty Detmer to start over Favre. Now, I'd take Favre in a regular season game any day of the week and twice on Sundays.

Packers would not have won today without Clay Matthews. He saved their butts at least a couple of times and got the big sack and 4th down stop in the 4th quarter.
We can also thank Andy Reid's poor clock management and Michael Vick's poor decision to not run the ball instead of throwing incomplete in the middle of the end zone, making them come away with only a FG. Rodgers looked very rusty today. Next week against Buffalo at Lambeau should be just what he needs. |

Matthews was the MVP. The Packers whipped the Eagles for a solid 3 quarters today. They get a pass with letting Vick run rampant because it's doubtful they had a serious game plan in for him. Sure, they had to plan for him in the Wildcat, but not as a full-time QB.
All in all, a road win against a (supposedly) quality opponent where the much-maligned defense was at times dominant is just fine for me. Any news on Grant? Jackson's more than capable, but he's now the only RB on the roster. They still need Grant back ASAP. |

I hate Favre and Jared Allen. Other than that, I still hate the Bears more. I started being a Packers fan just before the most recent Super Bowl win. My formative years were living in Western New York and being a Bills fan through their SB failures....and then I quickly realized that the Bills would never be any good again about 1995-1996, which I then hopped on the Packers wagon. Been there ever since. There's also the "two smallest NFL markets" thing that connects the two. Always good rooting for the underdog. |
