I don't get blocking all the young players for our 2015 plan with a bunch of veterans this season. How is Chris Carter going to learn to be an everyday DH if he doesn't get the chance to play everyday?

Yea, that doesn't make sense. What *does* make sense is getting rid of one of our first basemen. We have: Barton, Carter & Allen.

What 'cha think?

Personally, I think we'll let Carter start in AAA and have Barton be the starter if healthy. (Allen DH?)

If Barton does well, he gets shipped off opening a spot for Carter.
If Barton does poorly, he gets demoted (released?) opening a spot for Carter.

It's hard to get excited about the players they'll trot out this year. Since this offseason they have been making the hard play for a new stadium.

He could be a good player or a big bust, but this is the kind of thing the A's need to do. By the time his contract is nearing and end, the A's will be hopefully moving into a new stadium and we'll know if Cespedes is worth keeping around beyond this contract.
