Australia firmly in the box seat, 51 off 42 going at one day pace. Two cracking shots by both openers, firstly Warners 6 then a nice nudge for 4 from Cowan in the next over. Already can't wait for The Ashes series.

ANd Warner ties Chanderpaul for the 4th quickest test century in history. Amazing day of cricket.

I have no idea what Sharma said to Warner, but we'll have some more of it tomorrow thanks.

Australia 3/117 just after lunch on day one of the Adelaide test. Warner (8), Marsh (3) and Cowan (30) are the players out. Ponting just passed 50 and Clarke is there with him on 19. Another gigantic partnership coming up, perhaps?

Marsh has been terrible since coming back into the team, scoring just 17 runs in five innings this series (0, 3, 0, 11, 3). He also scored 0 in his last innings before getting injured so it's actually 17 runs in six innings. That is woeful. IMO he's still injured and should have never been brought back into the team.

Ponting becomes the 1st Australian and only the 3rd player ever behind India's Tendulkar and Dravid to reach 13,000 test match runs!

Pity he was ever a captain, think it takes a bit away from what is one of the greatest cricket players ever to grace a field.

Indeed. Was having that exact conversation with my boss at work today.

India have become a complete rabble. Don't worry, though. All they are concerned about is the one-dayers and T20s.

Okay, here's what has happened since my last update. Australia ended up declaring during the third session on day two, 7/604. Clarke was out just after lunch for 210 and Ponting made 221. Their partnership was 386. Hussey scored 25, Siddle 2. Haddin (42) and Harris (35) were both not out when Clarke ended the innings.

In reply India were only able to manage 272, with Kohli accounting for 116 of that. Next highest score was Gambhir with 34. Siddle took 5 wickets for the Aussies, Hilfenhaus claiming 3.

However, in their second innings once again Australia's top order collapsed. Warner made a quick fire 28 while Marsh, amazingly, scored 0, making it just 17 runs in his last 7 innings. Cowan only got 9. So they were 3/40 after that. Once again, it lokks like Ricky and Micky will have to steady the ship. Aussies are 3/50 at the start of day four, with a lead of 382 runs.

Should be ok as long as it's not an epic collapse, get it to 500 in front and I can't see India getting a draw let alone a win.

Good news over here cricket wise, the BBC have extended their contract to broadcast cricket on the radio. No matter how many gimmicks Sky comes up with broadcasting cricket it will never be better than cricket on BBC radio.

We have the cricket on ABC 702AM. They have all their sports broadcasts under the title "Grandstand". I think you can access it on the internet if you are interested in listening to it. The commentators are knowledgeable and entertaining, especially Kerry O'Keefe.

Here's the website if you are interested:
