Posting System
So I know most American's probably don't want to play in Japan but I have to think there would be some AAAA players or even league minimum MLB guys that could make way more in Japan. I know the sortta unrealistic but are the posting rules for US Players going to Japan the same? It just made me think smaller or mid market teams could make a pretty good chunk of change every now and then if they could convince their minor league guys who had no place in the system and likely would be fringe MLB guys to play in Japan and thus get posting revenue. Realistically the post amounts would probably be minimal but who knows maybe an aging superstar who wants to have a few more years above AAA and would sell a ton of tickets and still be effective in Japan could bring in a fat wad of cash, kinda like some Soccer players (Beckham) have done in their career ending their careers in leagues outside of the spotlight.

The Japanese leagues are a cut above AAA ball, so I'm not sure they'd be interested.
I also doubt whether any major league club would want to have their prospects play (and therefore be coached) outside of their farm system. I know it's done in FIFA, but Baseball's a different animal. |
