2015 Fantasy Football Teams

It's been like 3-4 years since I've played, but I got in a league this year.

QB Ryan Tannehill & Sam Bradford
RB Jamaal Charles, Matt Forte, Andre Ellington, Isaiah Crowell, Devonta Freeman & Andrew Williams
WR Alshon Jeffery, Vincent Jackson, Jarvis Landry, Michael Floyd & Doug Baldwin
TE Josh Hill
D Rams
K Matt Bryant

I'm pretty pleased with my RB crew and my WRs are decent enough. Definitely lacking at QB and TE, though. I'm hoping that Tannehill can be solid or that Bradford comes out as the sleeper I'm hoping he is. Josh Hill being in NO helps, I think as I seem to remember them liking to throw to their TEs and without Gates there, maybe he can step up.

The QBs just went too high in the auction for my liking. Cutler was drafted, but dropped after the night was over and I'm thinking of possibly picking him up for Bradford or Doug Baldwin.

I missed my live draft (forgot) and this is what auto-draft got me

QB - Andrew Luck/Joe Flacco
RB - Jamaal Charles/Joique Bell
WR - Sammy Watkins/Anquan Boldin/Mike Evans
TE - Coby Fleener

K - Dan Baily
Def - Cardinals

I managed to pick up Ameer Abdullah on waivers as he went undrafted. I think I might have gotten a steal there.

Also have Tre Mason (RB Rams) and Dorial Green-Beckham (WR Tenn) on the bench.

Just did mine. A ten team league. I'm second in the picking (Charles first pick...Colston my last). We don't have flex. You start a QB, RB, RB, WR, WR, TE, K, D/ST

Just did ours, too. Bear in mind I'm from Britain, not an NFL fan beyond a casual interest in the Steelers. Point being I have no idea if any of these guys are any good, beyond what I've read online.

QB Ben Roethlisberger, Teddy Bridgewater
RB Carlos Hyde, Ryan Mathews, Charles Sims, Jonas Grey, Lance Dunbar
WR Julio Jones, Davante Adamshi, Jeremy Maclin, Pierre Garcon, Michael Crabtree
TE Rob Gronkowski, Austin Sefarian-Jenkins
D/ST: Rams
K: Stephen Hauschka

Gronk was my first round pick, picking 8th in a 12-team league. By the time it got to me, there were no WR/RBs that I recognised left in the draft, so I went for Gronk and got whoever seemed best later on.

There were a few that I shamelessly picked just for their names (Sefarian-Jenkins, Pierre Garcon, Michael Crabtree). So I'm not expecting to do well.

I had no idea that folks did fantasy football in Britain! Cool. I guess the games there are spreading it a bit after all. My Chiefs play in London this year. I don't like it because we lose a home game and it's huge especially with the schedule but it is what it is...

As long as you're having fun. I remember playing FF the first time and just running auto-drafts just to learn the mechanics of the game. Sometimes my teams were great, sometimes they sucked. To be honest, the way to be most successful is to be active during the season. If a guy is playing well, pick him up and drop someone that is suckin'!! I usually make the most adds/drops out of anybody in a league - unless there is a charge for a transaction.

Be active and you'll have more fun - all the way to the end! Even if your team loses 10 weeks, make it a point to win the last 5-7!

Tough weekend for my teams (Steelers and Saints), but a decent one for my fantasy team so far! 82-79 down at the moment, but my opponent only has one player left to play (though to be fair, it's AP). I've got Julio Jones, Carlos Hyde and Shane Vereen (Jonas Grey got fired, so Vereen is his replacement) left to play. I'm hoping Jones can mostly match AP's score, and the other two can make up the difference.

One huge error was not realising you were allowed to play TEs as FLEX players. Sefarian-Jenkins is sitting on my bench, while Jeremy Maclin's 5 points are all my FLEX slot is providing. :'( I could be so far in front right now... Still, the projection says I should win...

My team scored 99 points and will probably lose. I'm up by 11, but my opponent has Demarco Murray going tonight.

.5 point PPR and I got 135 (standard the rest. I think only one other person is over 100 at this point). I've got my kicker to go tonight.

Andrew Williams, Michael Floyd, Josh Hill, Rams and Tannehill are now gone. I'm 5-0 (will be 6-0 after this week). Tyler Eifert was a heck of a pick-up for me at TE. Broncos was a good pick-up for me, too!

I have 3 top scoring weeks and will be getting my 4th this week. My team shouldn't be as good as they are...but they're pretty baller.

Maybe I can go undefeated and win it all so I can retire on top.

I went 4-0 in my rookie season, not bad! Now I'm 4-1, and this week is a ridiculously tight game.

Quote:
QB Ben Roethlisberger, Teddy Bridgewater
RB Carlos Hyde, Ryan Mathews, Charles Sims, Jonas Grey, Lance Dunbar
WR Julio Jones, Davante Adams, Jeremy Maclin, Pierre Garcon, Michael Crabtree
TE Rob Gronkowski, Austin Sefarian-Jenkins
D/ST: Rams
K: Stephen Hauschka
This has changed slightly. Bold players are starters, italics are new.

QB: Big Ben, Joe Flacco (I know, right? I feel dirty too).
RB: Carlos Hyde, Adrian Peterson, Ryan Mathews, Boobie Dixon
WR: Pierre Garcon, Jeremy Maclin, Davante Adams, Tyler Lockett, Kamar Aiken.
TE: Gronk, Owen Daniels
D: Rams, Titans (To cover the Rams bye week. As it turns out, I might as well have just started the Rams. Literally).
K: Hauschka

So yeah... some mistakes were made.

Firstly, Julio Jones for AP and Kamar Aiken is not a trade that should ever have happened. I was convinced Julio's hamstring was going, and thought Steve Smith would be out longer than he was. But even so... that was still a horrifically terrible trade.

Secondly, picking up the Titans D 'because they're playing Miami' was dumb the week after Miami solved their biggest problem. Without Philbin, suddenly they're a team again. Should've seen that coming. Zero points. Sigh.

Thirdly, I wish Ryan Mathews would make up his goddamn mind. The three games I played him, he got 8, 0, 0. The two games I benched him, he got 16 and 15. :@

But still, for a guy who didn't even know who most players who didn't play for the Steelers even were when the season started, I think 4-1 is pretty damn good. Top scoring team in week one, too!

This week I'm currently one point behind (54-55), still with Gronk and Mathews to play, vs. my opponent's Donnell and Gostkowski. Nail-biter!

I have no right to be this close. He's got 58 points on his bench, not including his backup QB!

That sucks you missed your live draft. But hey, don't you know you can sign up for FanDuel and there's no season long commitment? I'd ask around about it. I think they have a commercial or two running from time to time.

I seem to always trade for a player who immediately gets hurt. This year it was Carlos Hyde, right before the Baltimore game where he broke his foot.

I'd agree with the waiver wire being important, but because my team was soooo dang good, I never got a good waiver claim. Our commissioner has the waiver wire to reset every week, so I've been 12 out of 12 every single week and this league is too good and too active for me to luck out with people forgetting.

For this league, I needed to trade but I wasn't trading Charles, Forte, Freeman or Jeffrey. I could have traded Lewis or Jackson but Jackson wasn't worth much to anyone and Lewis wasn't worth much until I'd already lost Charles and then he got hurt.

Like I said...I quit. Fantasy football (or any fantasy at that point) is such about luck. There's skill to a point, but not really. Like you said, you always trade for someone right before they get hurt. Well, I was offered garbage (pretty much) for Charles the week before he went out and garbage for Forte the week before he went out. But, there was no reason to take garbage for two guys that were playing so f'n good.

Our waiver system works a bit more fairly. Every person at the start of the year gets $100 for waiver adds. It's a blind bid and whoever bid the most money gets that player. -You can bid zero.

If there are ties, the person who is currently lower in the standings wins out.

It is a lot about luck. But that doesn't make it any less fun for me.
