Looking @ the NBA off court is like watching Jr HS girls
Everybody catching feelings over what this one or that one said, did, or didn't do.
Durant vs Westbrook Oakley vs the Knicks Barkley vs LeBron Shaq vs McGee I've never seen so much crying over meaningless crap.

I'm not familiar with D vs W but I gather that it was a battle of egos when they were teammates that boiled over when Durant left for the front-running Warriors. Now it's a bickering match, I guess, or it's something that the media is blowing out of proportion. Yawn.
O vs K, I am familiar with. It should read "Oakley vs. Dolan" because that's whom Oakley cannot stand and who he was rebelling against the night he was thrown out of Madison Square Garden. Not that Dolan is any paragon of virtue, far from it; he's a dumbass who has delegated to another dumbass (Jackson), hence the ineptitude of the Knicks year after year. But he did reach out to Oakley after their dispute was mediated and Oakley continued to have his hissy fit instead of reconciling. Too much of that kind of outraged, terribly offended, hyper-sensitive stuff on Oakley's part. He was a great Knick but he's another dumbass now. B vs L is laughable. What does LeBron care what Barkley says? Barkley was a good player but nowhere near the GOAT level on which LeBron is considered. When LBJ said "I’m not the one who threw somebody through a window. I never spit on a kid. I never had unpaid debt in Las Vegas. I never said, ‘I’m not a role model.’ I never showed up to All-Star Weekend on Sunday because I was in Vegas all weekend partying," Barkley retorted, "Heh, he must have Googled me." S vs M sounds kinky, but it refers to some feud that I had not even heard about yet! What the heck is that about? I had to Google that one. Hmmm. Ok, it seems McGee got tired of being lampooned in Shaq's NBA.com video series Shaqtin' A Fool, so he takes to Twitter to Hack-A-Shack and a tweet-feud ensues (Twitter has to be the dumbest damned invention in recent memory). This is similar to B vs L but with this slight difference: The instigator from the past (Shaq) is still of greater prominence that the target of today (McGee). My judgment: McGee should shut up and play better because he is not going to win a Twitter war with Shaq.

I enjoy the NBA, but I can't stand the egos of the sport. The flash, the style, the lack of education, the focus on self over team so much. The incredibly uneducated, but highly opinionated fans.
The sport is awesome, but the players and teams are largely ruining it. It's hard to ignore the side crap and focus on the game. |
