Padres New Gear
Well here's the Pads new stuff. What do y'all think?
New Logo: New Home (Modeled by Giles): New Road (Modeled by Hoffman): New Alternates (Also modeled by Giles): Personally I LOVE the new logo (if anyone could size that down to 125x125 that would be great I can't figure out how to do it). The new homes are nice. I like the font and color choices. The aways are okay. They're calling that color Padres Brown. I love the hat but I don't like the font that much on the shirts. The alternates are nice but very Brewers. I'm looking forward to the Navy Blue and Khaki hat coming to Tucson so I can pick it up.

Not bad. Just how many logo/color/jersey scheme changes have the Padres made over the past couple decades? They must lead the league!

Thanks Kezzek! I've really got to figure out how to do some graphics stuff.

not bad - a little too much flamboyancy in the "P" in Padres on the jersey, but it's better than a lot of the new jerseys (Toronto Blue Jays: this means you).
one question - what will the camoflague ones look like?

The Padres have gone downhill since the 1980's. This is horrible, in my opinion.

I like them. They're not amazing, but they're not bad.

I still think they should go back to this:
I guess I'm not a big fan of how every 5-10 years every team in every sport has logos in the same style using the same font. Jason

)In 1973 the Padres almost moved to Washington, D.C. The team had everything packed and Topps actually printed baseball cards for the 1973 season with "Washington" in place of San Diego. The league did not want the move to happen. Ray Kroc stepped in at the final hour to purchase the team and keep it in San Diego. The Padres drafted Dave Winfield and the rest is history.

You know, I'm pretty sure the Padres could give just about any MLB team a run for its money in the "Franchise with the worst uniform ideas" contest.

The first one looks like almost any team from the early 70's. It looks a lot like the old Athletics and Pirates unis from that period. The second one looks a lot like the old Blue Jays and Mariners unis (early 80's?).
