Schill's going from a really good hitter's park to a relatively neutral one. If he's healthy, I don't think he'll slip much at all. The Fens is a real tough HR park for LHB, so I expect Schill could even improve a bit.

It must be a relief for schilling and vasquez to not have to hit anymore. That would be such a pain in the ass.

And after reading that article on hudson deserving the cy young, i am not convinced. In fact that was a joke. The only pitcher who may have deserved it over halliday was loaiza.

I know a surefire way to push Loaiza above Hudson in your study. Whether that is better or not is debatable:

Just replace ERA by RA.

Player/R/ER/Innings

Martinez/52/46/186.2
Hudson/84/72/240
Loaiza/75/73/226.1
Halladay/111/96/266.0

I'm not sure that's what yzerman19 got in mind though.

And even with that, I'd guess Martinez, Hudson, and Loaiza's contributions would still be on the same level with Halladay a step behind.

Well, I know opinions can vary... it was the "in fact it was a joke" part that I took issue with. I want to know why he felt that way.

I knew Estaban Loaiza was going to win 20 games last year.

Well, although the season isn't over yet - his stats look to be the front runner for Cy Young. However, with the East coast bias, Santana will miss out on what should have been his Cy Young season.

It will be quite an injustice if Santana doesn't get it.

Santana's only competition for the Cy Young is Curt Schilling.

The AL MVP should go to this fellow, but I ain't holding my breath.

Really. Who won Cy Young because of east coast bias? Roger Clemens? Pedro Martinez? Is that an insult?

He wont win it- not with idiots like Kruk around. He should, but he wont- instead, it will go to Schilling for "knowing" how to win.

It isn't an insult to the players or the fans. Clemens, Martinez are excellent pitchers and I'm not trying to take anything away from them.

Or Kruk's latest, Schilling should win because there is more media pressure in Boston than in Minnesota.

EDIT: That may have been Brantley that said that.

Peter Gammons thought Santana would probably win unless Schilling pitched the Red Sox over the Yankees to the division crown.

http://sports.espn.go.com/mlb/gammons/story?id=1880521

I think that sounds more like it. The "idiots" you guys talk about are probably just trying to be cute. Just like Jayson Starks with Shannon Stewart for 2003 MVP.
