I was wrong?

I reread my article though. It was good. Why'd I stop writing them?

I don't know what is worse, that Santanna won't win the cy young in the AL or
that 2.74(1)/268(1)/23(1)/0.87(1)/10.78(2)/6.54(2)/223.2(1)- ERA(rank)/K(rank)/QS(rank)/WHIP(rank)/K/9(rank)/K/BB(rank)/IP(rank) won't win the NL Cy Young.

If he doesn't win the Cy Young award I'll stop posting here for a month.

Santana. Right now (Santana - Schilling) > ( Johnson - Pavano).

Of the two guys in Boston, I'd take Pedro over Schill, but that's me.

Er, just looked at ESPN and maybe not, but they're about as even as it gets. I'd flip a coin. Though if Pedro can continue on his August/September pace, it's him in a landslide over Schill.

Edit. Pedro's been absolutely incredible (yet again) vs everyone except for the Orioles. As much as I hate to cherry pick stats, take out his 3 starts against Baltimore and you get.

IP 181.2
H 142
R 60
ER 56
HR 18
BB 48
K 198
ERA 2.78

His line against Baltimore in 3 starts?

IP 18
H 24
R 20 !!!!
ER 20 !!!
HR 4
BB 7
K 15
ERA 9.99

Santana's been absolutely filthy all year. He should win it, and will imo. The only way I see Pedro/Schilling winning it is if the Sox manage to overtake the Yankees with all the baseball media watching it go down.

Wow! Pedro minus games against Orioles still got higher ERA than Santana.

As I said Skippy. Santana deserves it and I hope he wins it. It's just funny that one team has pounded on Pedro to that degree hiding what is otherwise a damn fine season.

If Johan wins it, then dannyc gets to claim LL's "OOTP Forum Prognosticator Extraordinaire" title.

We'll have to replace "Legend Lock" with...uh... "dannyc lock"?

Since Santana has not signed a long term contract yet. Now the Twins got another chance to overpay a player right after their best year!!!!1111

Santana should run away with the Cy Young- unfortunately, he's going to get robbed.

No question there, but Johnson is having a wonderful year, and probably won't even get one vote for cy young, because of his W/L record.

I would hope he would get some votes. Going 14-13(so far) with a 2.73 ERA for a team that has gone 47-103 (again so far) is pretty damn good.

Santana should have solidified the Cy Young today. Really, the only other viable candidate is Schilling, but Johan has been much better.

Santana should have two more starts in September where he will win his third straight Pitcher of the Month. So far in September, Santana is 4-0 and has yet to give up a run.
