At Yokohama Stadium, Akinori Iwamura hit a tie-breaking two-run homer off Takeo Kawamura (4-3) with two out in the ninth inning as Yakult overcame a late scare to edge Yokohama in a 25-hit slugfest.

At Yokohama Stadium, Tyrone Woods hit a two-run homer in the bottom of the seventh inning as the BayStars and Yakult played to a in a game called after eight innings due to rain. This with a loss by the Tigers, lift the Swallows out of last place.
