I am really, really starting to dislike this Calgary team. I can't think of an underdog I've hated more.

EDIT: Darryl Sutter, that is. I always get him mixed up with this brother.

Well that guy did a nice job of spinning the story so it fit his agenda... ESPN articles about the NHL are horrible, which is why I never go there for NHL stuff.

Gretzky did a similar 'deflection' interview during the Olympics, and everyone hated that as well. But it worked. And Sutter's deflection is working now... thanks in part to the brilliant guy at ESPN who hates the thought of this overshadowing the game, but covers the story anyway. Tort did the same thing when Tampa was playing Philly, with his "shut your yap" speech... it's smart coaching.

If you hate the team just because the coach pulls a move like this, a brilliant move if you ask me, then thats up to you. I love Calgary, and I love Tampa... but I still want the Flames to win.

Darryl had 5 brothers who played in the NHL, none of whom were named Gary.

It was just a coaching ploy. I can't think of any other reasons to hate Calgary, either, so I'm not really sure how you came to feel that way.

Now if you mixed up Rich and Ron, you could have a case. The others were Brent, Duane and Brian.

Gary Suter is one of my most-despised hockey players, that might be who you're confusing Darryl Sutter with.

although, ironically, the 7th Sutter who never played hockey is, indeed, named Gary.

but I don't think you'd be confusing those two.
