Gil Meche straight up for Brandon Inge
That was proposed by the Mariners.
DD declined. Im torn, I really like Inge, he can hit whenever hes not catching and he has one of the strongest arms I've ever seen (Baseball America ranked him as the third, but he has pin point accuracy, he one hopped one from the left center wall in Commerica to the catcher). But the big thing is, hes hitting over .300 and he has 9 HR (.374 OBP, .865 OPS). He plays flawless 3B, can catch (even if he cant hit in games he catch's, odd study), is better than average in all three OF positions and if needed, could play middle infield. Never thought Id see the day that Brandon Inge was in trade talk, and I didn't want to give him up..... |

proposed by the M's, theres a shock! Bavasi will suceed in completely destroying this team before the owners wake up.
Bavasi SUCKS!!!! He has not f'n clue how to evaluate talent or run a team, by the time he's done he's going to make me wish Woody Woodward was still around Brandon Inge is having a good start but the fact is he's a career .215 hitter. Gil Meche is having a bad start but will bounce back next year and will be a solid 3rd starter. You have a 27 yr old who is hitting almost .100 points over his career avg and a 26 yr old pitcher who won 15 games last year who is going through a tough year. Which one is more likely to revert back to somewhere close to their career numbers? If your reading this Bavasi the answer is Meche you idiot!! You don't trade a young pitcher for a utility type player, oh wait a minute you already did it earlier this year, and now your trying it again, good job. And I'm not even going to bring up the fact that you hired your buddy 'squiggy' as a 'scout'.
