Bio from the board game

63(14)-10-0

Light-heavyweight Champion from 1939-1940; ranks in the top ten light-heavyweights. One of the best light-heavyweight champions. Will go down in ring history for his loss to Joe Louis with the Heavyweight title at stake. Conn gave up the light-heavyweight crown that he had taken from Melio Bettina and defended for 2 years in order to move up and fight against the heavyweights. Victories over tough Bob Pastor and Lee Savold led to a title shot at Louis. Louis knocked Conn out shortly before the bell sounded ending round 13. Conn continued to fight until he entered the service. After it ended, he decided to retire. A true Irishman!
