Bio from the board game
58(33)-12-1
Welterweight Champion in 1955. Though not a polished fighter, Tony DeMarco got the job done. He was a hook specialist and started out his career with a string of wins. But then he began to lose a few and thought of retiring. Talked out of that, he came back and won 15 fights in a row. An underdog in his first fight against champion Johnny Saxton, he scored a big upset stopping Saxton in the 14th round. He lost the crown to Carmen Basilio shortly after and fought only 16 times in the next 7 years before retiring.
