Heeney was more popularly known as "The Hard Rock from Down Under". He got his shot at Gene Tunney by upsetting the highly favoured American Jack Sharkey, earning a 15-round draw in their battle. In hindsight, many felt Sharkey would've given Gene a tougher fight.
