Jerry Luedee
Hello. My name is Daniel Luedee. Regarding my Fathers information on his career. Please allow me to correct a few things. My Father passed away from a trucking accident on January 31, 1980. Not January 1, 1980. My Father may have been from New Haven, Connecticut, But we resided in Redding , California for close to 30 years. Although He fought as a Light Heavyweight, He also fought as a great middleweight compiling an impressive record of 27 wins with only 2 defeats both by Rory Calhoun. The second fight was much disputed at ringside, For A.P. had my Father ahead 5-4-1 in rounds. After the unfortunate ring death of Brian Thompson in which my Father K.O.ed Brian in 6 rounds, My Father was undecided to continue His career. His manager John Scavone encouraged my Father to continue. He then campaigned as a Light Heavyweight and we moved to Newark, New Jersey. His record reflected the loss of the "killer instinct" with only 8 K.O.'s in his remaining career as a light heavyweight. Jerry Luedee finished his career with 38 wins, 11 losses and 4 draws. He avenged 4 of His 11 losses and 1 of His draws. If you would like any more info on my Father, Please don't hesitate to email me at dluedee@chw.edu or "twintowersent@sbcglobal.net". Thankyou ...Sincerely ... Daniel A. Luedee son of Jerry F. Luedee.
