Bio form old board game - LHW card

Tunny could have been an even better light-heavyweight than he was an excellent heavyweight. Most people hear the name Tunney and think of the famous Dempsey-Tunney fights. They don't realize that Tunney was the American light-heavyweight champion for three years. Tunney defeated Battling Levinsky for the American crown and then lost the title to Harry Greb. He regained the crown and defended one more time before concentrating on the heavyweight division.

Tunney was trained by Frank "Doc" Bagley and Whitey Bimstein,
Bagley left Tunney before he moved to Heavyweight.

Tunney's listed above as a light heavyweight but the weight is listed as 192. He only weighed more than 189 1/2 in his last fight; against New Zealand's Tom Heeney.
