Not for nothing but the opponent Chad Dawson is suppose to face is a real piss poor choice. I hope he doesn't become one of those "sit on his laurels" type of champions and just face manditories. He has the talent and ability to clean out the LHW division. Hopefuly he'll face Tarver or Glen Johnson before the year is out.

I could see Dawson having a rough time getting quality opponents when there are other titles to be won. Another problem with multiple titles is that opponents try to pick the easiest champ to challenge, Dawson is probably the toughest route to a LHW belt.

Confirmation of the first two bouts was in the Courant a few days back.
I'm not overly excited about them, but since they're in the neighborhood, I'm up if you guys want to make a trip out of it.

It's Star Boxing:

To appear in the Wed. paper:
Tickets go on sale today at the Convention Center Box Office and through Ticketmaster. Prices are $500, $200, $100, $50 and $35. Five hundred?? Oh puleeeeease Rocky Schmocky.

A little pricey... There's no way I'll go higher than the $100 seats and even that's pushing it...

What did we pay Will - $110 for the best seats in the house last time (almost). $500 is laughable. That said, I'll laugh along at a 100-200 clip if you guys are in. $500 is a non-starter though.

I'll check out the $100 seats.
Last time around I'm not sure we actually had the best seats . . . I may be wrong, but I think we were three rows back, while those first two rows were their "Gold" section. Just a hunch, but I'm guessing those first couple rows are the $500 and perhaps our seats from last time are in the $200 section?? I'll check it out.

I got on ticketmaster today and searched for $100 seats. The query came back WITHOUT any section and row on it . . . . I can swing by the Covention Center if the problem persists and get seats that way, but not until Monday at the earliest.

I got the all clear from the family CEO so I'm in if you can get tickets. I would prefer to pay more for the closer seats given that it is all on one level. I'm guessing that 30 rows back really sucks in that ballroom.

Will, if you think the $100 seats are crap, I can go to the $200, but no that's about it. Let me know what you find out.

TicketMaster still not showing Section and Row with order . . .looks like a trip to the Box Office next week.
I'm not cool with paying $200 unless we're pretty much where we were last time, just a few rows back. I paid $200 to see Gatti-Ward III at Boradwalk Hall and I was like five rows from the floor with a good angle . . and $400 for floor seats another time. It just seems like a lot for this card. If $100 gets us within 20 rows, we down with that? Otherwise I guess it's spend the deuce? Lemme know.
