Matt Remillard tonight
Matt Remillard 12-0-0 (7) returns to action tonight at Mohegan Sun against Colombian native Jesus Salvador Perez 25-18-3 (14).
Should be an easy victory for the Sharpshooter after his sub-par performance in his first comeback fight from injury. Perez started his career 23-2-2 (13) but since has been 2-16-1 (1) MW Andy Lee 15-0-0 (12) vs. Brian Vera 15-1-0 (9) headlines the FNF ESPN2 card. Also on the card is local casino dealer LHW Brian Macy 2-0-0 (1) in a four-rounder.

Will just clued me in that this card is also on ESPN360.com live!
Those of you that are like me (in the stone age with no cable) or overseas can get a look at Connecticut's finest. Pryor's kid is on right now. He is tall and gets hit a lot. That's the extent of my analysis at this point. Thanks again Will! Quote:

Wyatt (9 yrs) is watching with me.
He wants to know why boxers don't wear shirts. Does anyone have an answer for him? ![]() I know that in bare knuckle days, they stripped to the waist for bouts in part to avoid infection from dirty clothing (or so I've heard) but that's all I have.

Elvin Ayala *SPOILER*
Local New Haven MW Elvin Ayala had a title shot against IBF Middleweight champion Arthur Abraham in Germany today...
Here is what was posted on fightnews.com ... Abraham KOs Ayala in 12! By Karl Freitag In what is expected to be his last bout in Germany before invading the U.S. boxing scene in search of Kelly Pavlik, IBF middleweight champion Arthur Abraham (26-0, 20 KOs) scored a twelfth round knockout over Elvin Ayala (18-3-1, 8 KOs) on Saturday night at the Sparkassen Arena in Kiel, Germany. Abraham pressed the action from the opening bell. Ayala was game and in the fight early, but in rounds three and four the heavy hands of the champion began to take their toll. Abraham floored Ayala with a right hand in round five. Arthur continued to punish Ayala in the sixth. Ayala was having a good seventh round until Abraham rocked him at the end of the frame. Abraham continued to land brutal blows as the bout progressed but the super tough Ayala was determined to battle until the end, which came, brutally, in the twelfth when Abraham dropped him face first with a vicious left uppercut. Referee Roberto Ramirez stopped it at the 2:32 mark.

Bad, bad, bad
Shocker: Lopez KOs Oliver!
Wednesday, May 7 2008 In a huge upset, 34-year-old former two-time world title challenger Reynaldo Lopez (29-5-2, 20 KOs) knocked out previously undefeated IBF #2 super bantamweight Mike "Machine Gun" Oliver (21-1, 7 KOs) in round three on Wednesday night at The Roxy in Boston, Massachusetts. It was one punch, a left hook, that flattened Oliver, who fell motionless face down. Referee Dick Flaherty waved it off at 1:22. Lopez had lost two straight coming in. EDIT: As of 10:48 p.m., BoxRec has a wrong result . . Mike-Mike went down
