I'm too pissed off to post about this game other than to say that was the biggest bunch of punks I've ever seen in my life.

5 personal fouls on them (I'll go into more detail about two of them later) and the brother of one of the players stayed on our sidelines and threatened to fight any of our fans that yelled out anything .. threatened to stab one of the fans in the parking lot. That fan told a cop that was there and the cop told the fan he shouldn't be talking crap about the team.

Horrible horrible school and team and kids. I hope to God we play them in the playoffs.

Here is what I posted on the bluegrasspreps board .. which of course they deleted within minutes .. I was truely sickened by their display.

Okay ... There is a reason we went for two instead of tying the game and going to OT I will get to that in a minute. First off I lost the bet so no more, I'm a man of my word.

First let me say about Marion that I was amazed at how well a small O-Line blocked and opened up holes for their plethora of runners.

Now I am not going to mention any names or #'s to try and avoid getting in trouble .. but ....

That was the worst team and fans I've ever had to deal with. 5 personal fouls on their team. A BE kid caught a pass and went 66 yards. Next play the same kid scored on a 1 yard run. The next time BE had the ball the same kid went out 25 yards for a pass. While the ball was still 10 yards away from him, one of their kids blindsided him (he absolutely knew the ball was no where near the BE player) and caused a concussion. Pass Interference and should have been a personal foul. The kid had the guts to argue with the ref about the play. The whole time the kid was arguing with the ref another one of the players was making a crude sexual jesture to our players and our crowd.

Early in the third a BE player ran 75 yards for a touchdown. The same kid was in on defense and two plays later when the play was dead a Marion player speared him in the stomach with his helmet .. personal foul .. our kid leaves in an ambulance.

Then one of their fans (a older brother of one of the players) stayed on our side of the field and threatened physical violence against any fan who yelled out anything toward the field. Twice the police told him to get back on his side as the laughed around and joked with him

Worst sportsmanship I have ever ever seen. I will be calling the principal of Marion on Monday morning as will 15-20 other BE parents.

Early in the thread I mentioned why we went for two. We didn't want to give them the opportunity for more cheap shots in OT so we went for two and failed. Hats off to them for stopping it

I hope to God it plays out that we meet them in the playoffs. When they played the game right they were a good solid team hats off to them... but I was sickened by what I saw from their team and one of their fans.

It was Nate that was blindsided on the pass play. Not only did the kid know the ball was no where near Nate but then he proceeded to high five other players and taunt Nate. Then he argued the call, while another kid on their team grabbed his crotch and shook it at the team and the fans. Nate somehow played the last two plays of the 1st half.

Then was woozy at half-time. He couldn't count by 7 backwards from 100 until the very end of the half-time. The trainer took his helmet away from him because he was headed out on the field for the kick off. He sat out the 3rd Quarter. But the last 3 minutes of the 3rd he was on the trainer about going back in. I went down and told the trainer if he thought Nate was alright he had my permission to go back in.

The trainer put him through some tests which Nate passed all of them, so he got to go back in. He ended up scoring the touchdown with :20 seconds left.

The coach decided to go for two because of the actions of Marion County. IMO it was a dumb call. It was a district game and he should have tied it and played for overtime. For anyone who has listened .. the kid who left in an ambulance was Claine Reisinger our leading rusher on the season. Tony Knox our second leading rusher DNP because of injury. Nate had two catches for 63 yards. About 12 runs for 60 or so yards and two TD's.

Those players on Marion sound like a bunch of animals. Glad to hear Nate is OK. Is there a way BE can protest those actions that occured?

Sounds like Marion's Coach is either a complete Asshat or a spineless Bitch. No way in hell a coach with any amount of class or control of his Team allows that to happen.

And the Guy that was on your side.....wow, can't believe they let him stay there making threats, was Barney Fife the Cop on your side?

I believe that any unsportsmanlike behavior reflects back onto the coach and it sounds like he condoned what his players did last night. Any coach who can't control his team should get the ax.

Classy behavior on Marion's part, I agree with a87star and Lee that coach needs to be fired for letting his team act like that. Glad to hear that Nate is doing good and hopefully Reisinger turns out to be fine as well.

It's just crazy to allow Kids to do that. I have a couple that are very capable of that kind of behavior, but they know if they do anything stupid in a game they are on the Bench immediately, and will have follow up punishment as well. If Kids learn that from the day they set foot on that programs field it will never be an issue.

Of course the kid grabbing his crotch did it right next to our bench so their coaches may not have seen it. Still the kid celebrating an obvious cheap shot hit should have been benched .. the coaching staff will be addressed when I call the prinicpal.

Who would be above the principal? The superintendant?

Chairman of the Board of Education would be a good place to go. Elected officials at the local level can be quite responsive at times.

Called and left a message for the principal on Monday and Tuesday .. sent an email to the principal and the AD on Monday .. no response from any of them.

Maybe my all-time favorite football pic of Nate .. this was when he scored the TD that should have tied the game ... it was late in the 4th when he had come back in from the cheap shot.

Mike I think you should keep pursuing a conversation with the Principal and AD. Those guys from Marion should not get away with their behavior last weekend.

Honestly, I'm not surprised that school admin would not be eager to be involved in an exchange with a parent from another school.

I think your best shot is to talk to your coach and your principal to see if they plan to make contact. I'd say it's your best bet to get a response, even if it's not directly to you.

a87: I disagree. I think that just turns them off more. I'm guessing they've gotten the messages/Emails and I think something like that is best done through "official" channels.

Good point Thunder. I just feel that the people in charge at Marion should address this. What if the same culprits do it to another team down the line? It definitely has to be looked into before it gets out of control.

I doubt our coach or principal would do anything because we have to play them every year from here on out. If they make a stink of it more than likely it will be worse next time.

I totally understand that opinion. It's just that they are not beholden to parents from another district. I doubt they'll repsond without staff/admin behind it.

Yeah our varsity has stumbled a bit, we are still ranked 5th in 5A II by the paper. We need to get our Pass coverage fixed. I am predicting a 7-3 finish for the Varsity and probably a 4 or 5 seed for the 5A II playoffs.

Our Freshmen went to 5-0 last night with a 46-6 win over arch rival Tolleson (46-0 at Halftime). We only ran 21 Offensive plays the whole game and ran for 360 yards and passed for 50 (2 attempts, both went for TD's)

The Kids are playing real well, 1394 yards rushing year to date for 9.3 YPC average. Have outscored our opponents 193 - 31. It gets tougher over the next 3 weeks though, which we need. Hopefully we keep it going and don't lose any key players to grades!!
