Sounds like the o-line improved quite a bit from the first game..by the way,how many penalities this game? Must have really improved there as well. Congrats,ya definitely sound like the proud papa..nothing wrong with that. Special teams are often overlooked but often are the deciding factor when two teams with equal talent get together. Your son must be a speed guy..any idea on his 40 time?

Mike: Jeez, your son has got some wheels on him. 4.5 thats a nice 40 time and I imagine he's got to be pretty quick as well when it comes to make cuts and such as thats even more useful then just a straight line speed when it comes to punt returns.

38-7 win tonight. We don't throw much but Nate was in most of the game at WR and CB.
He had 1 catch for 17 yards. 4 tackles on D. Two crazy things tonight though. First off the punted 4 times and all 4 times they punted out of bounds instead of to Nate .. guess they watched film. They kicked off twice, once away from Nate and Tony Knox (our RB) ran it back for a TD. The second time they tried and onside kick and Nate recovered it. Now even crazier. The put Nate in at QB for a drive. He hasn't played QB since his freshman year where he started on the Freshman and JV team at a different school. He came here and they were two deep so he switched to WR. The backup got hurt and they put Nate in for a drive when we were up 38-0. In true Hanson form he called his own # on 5 out of 6 plays and ran for 35 yards. Two penalties both false starts (probably not used to Nates Cadence) forced them to punt. But that was cool. I watched him talking to the sidelines and I could see him trying to talk them into a pass play LOL. |

Sounds like dad was proud in the stands. I hope that's where you were.
Tell Nate good job and game. Congrats to BE on the win.

This was the first game my mom was able to get to this year. My dad has been to all of them, but my mom (she's 60) fell down a flight of stairs in May and severly broke and dislocated her ankle, she just last week got to start walking without any brace or cast on. So Nate playing maybe his best all around game couldn't have come at a better time. My boy is a great kid and probabley my best friend in the world (my 18 y/o and I are okay but distant) and I really appreciate you guys letting me post this in here. |

Ouch, good to hear that your mom is okay from her fall that can be scary. Yeah, your boy did pick the best time to have one of his best games.

He is spending the night at a friends house tonight but he called me to tell me about the pushing match he got into in the 3rd quarter, before he played QB and before he caught his pass for 18 yards.
He said that he was double covered and afterwards one of the kids on the other team said "good thing they didn't throw to you we would of kick your ass", Nate said all he did was tap the kid on the shoulder and point at the scoreboard and said "scoreboard". I've taught him since day one that there is no comeback for scoreboard. But the best part is it's the same kid who was guarding him two plays later when Nate caught a screen pass, juked and took it 18 yards. I Love my Kid!!!!! |

And so it begins
I contacted Morehead St. recruiting coordinator since my oldest son plays in the marching band there and Nate knows a couple of kids on the team and they got back to me quickly and said they like BE's football program and would be interested in having Nate come to a Gameday Visit.
It's a meet and greet, measurements, and facility tour. Couldn't believe it was that easy. Gonna have to have Nate make a list of other Division 1AA schools he is interested in and contact them also. |
