They usually mention Nate (Hanson) a lot. One of the commentators named George is my next door neighbor and he loves Nate. Very tough game tonight. Playing a downtown Louisville School. Last two years the have sent 5 players to division one schools including James McKinney (michigan) and Corey Peters (Kentucky).

We are 5-3 against them and they have never won at our place.

Just happened upon this thread - I try to limit my reading in general topics on this forum these days as you never know what annoyance you might run across, and I sometimes get the irrational itch to put bullies in their place for some reason...

This is awesome Mike! Congrats! I have one son, 14, who is the lead guitarist and singer for a band. I know what it's like to feel mighty proud, and you certainly have someone to be mighty proud about.

Good luck tonight! I'll keep tuned in for all the latest. Thanks for sharing.

Matt

Thanks Matt ... my oldest son is in the marching band at Morehead St. Made third trombone in the band as a freshman this year. I know very little about band and he grew up with his mom in Michigan. What I do know is that I don't hate listening to him play LOL.

He also plays bass guitar really well and is always looking to get into a band.

So I have the music son and the sports son with no daughters!!! Happy all around LOL.

At this point, I feel the urge to mention that I wish that someone would introduce some heavy blunt force trauma to head the head who ever is honking that horn where East does something good.

Sorry, man it sounded like a tough game. It seem that ya'll were doing good in the early part of the game but the wheels just came off after that first fumble. Nice kick return by Nate to bad it came in such a blowout. Though it sounds like you got some jobber team next week so hopefully they can pick up a big win next week.

Thanks .. tough loss 56-16 but that was a damn good team. Romy had it right we came out stopped them scored, stopped them again. Then we were driving for another score and fumbled ... next thing you know it is 49-7.

Nate did okay on D what he played. Offense he struggled all night. Only had one catch for 13 yards. The QB was running for his life all night and was either throwing short or long. Twice Nate had the ball knocked away because he didn't come back to the ball (freshman mistakes by a junior) He had FC on a punt return. One KR for 15 then the 80 KR for a TD. Nice way to end the game.

We play Atherton next Friday listen to that one. They have won 1 game in about 10 years, almost quit football all together this year. We beat them 88-0 last year. We shouldn't have too much trouble now until the playoffs. Where that really hurt was that we will have to go to Central in the second round probabley now.

Thanks for listening Romy .. appreciate the support.

His son played last year. It's an old VW horn .. part of our charm . Last year in the playoffs we had that and bottle shakers.

I'm still happy about the 80 TD on the kick return though.

The Pittsburgh/Cincinnati so I decided to listen to ya'lls game instead. Though considering the first time I ever listen to one of ya'lls games you get blowen off the field it might be better if I don't listen anymore.

Well, hopefully that this win will get Central all overconfidence and they won't take ya'll seriously in the playoffs. So ya'll can ambush them. I've been part of alot of blowouts, on both sides, and I don't think I've seen a team drop 88 points in a game. A win like that would probably do wonders for ya'll team.

Way to go Nate.
You made me go back and read the posts again. How I missed reading about the KO return?????????????

What is Nate's KO returns and Punt returns average so far this year?

With 4.5 speed and good return skills...no prob getting his college tab taken care of! Sorry bout the loss, but glad to hear that your son is doing well. Just curious..do you video tape his games? I tape my nephews games for him...wish I had some old tapes to look back on. Unfortunately not many video recorders in the 70's and early 80's lol.

Still haven't had a chance to look at his stats yet .. will get to that tonight.

Exciting news though. This week in addition to starting at WR, he will be starting at CB. Plus they are working him at RB in practice this week and have told him when he's not at WR he'll probably be at RB.

The more he's on the field the better.

Great news. Looks like he'll have another way to showcase his speed.
Will the link for the streamlink broadcast be the same for this week? I'm home this Friday night so I'll have a chance to listen.

Game wasn't broadcast tonight as Atherton wouldn't allow them to broadcast from their place. Too bad to because Nate had a huge game. He had a 60 PR for a TD that was called back. Then he broke up 3 passes with big hits. Took his first run at RB 17 yds. Didn't get another carry.

KR, he ran back two kicks .. first one Tony (RB) missed the ball and it rolled to the 1, nate picked it up and returned it to the 20. Kickoff to start the second half he caught it and the 10 and went up the middle untouched for 90 and a TD. Then next drive he caught a pass out of the backfield for 10 yds and another TD.

On the next punt he went up the middle and broke two tackles and took off, juked to the left to slip the last guy and got caught in the turf and went down but it was after 37 yards ... then we scored on the next play and the mercy rule went into effect and he didn't go back in.

Bullitt East 63 Atherton 6.

Nate now had 8 kickoff returns for 306 yards and two touchdowns. I left all the other averages at work but he's averaging almost 40 a KR with a 25% TD rate!

Our county rival North Bullitt who we beat 35-33 in triple overtime last year in our 13-1 semistate season ... lost to Central tonight 29-20. Evidently (according to the radio broadcast) the Central QB threw 5 picks and couldn't hit the broadside of the barn.

Our problem last week was that our coaches called the worst defensive game plan ever. We were worried about their speed (Central is Louisville Central and their school is smack downtown, read that as it is) so we back off about 10 yard on their recievers.... so every play the gained about 8 yards or more because they were wide open for 10 yards.

Should of played two safties and put the CB up at the line to smack the recievers off their routes and then count on the safties if they got beat.

The weird thing is that we beat Central 3 times in different 7 on 7 tournies this summer, playing man to man the whole time.
