Lone Oak is going to win now up 48-33 with 2:10 left. The Lone Oak QB started 3-11 ... he is now 33-47 for 347 yds and 5 TD's.

Holy run and shoot batman, those are crazy HS numbers, 47 passes in an entire Season is about average for one of my teams, LOL.

Wild offense by Lone Oak ... most of the game he was in a five wide empty backfield set. They had a formation where he had 4 WR on one side that they ran a lot out of. They threw it short a lot but the kid would put the ball on the money 25 to 30 yards downfield also.

The Holy War

For the second year in a row BYU scores on it's final drive to defeat the hated Utah Utes 17-10, hell yeah!!!!!

There are very few feelings as euphoric as beating the team up north, I hate those bastards!!!!

Congrats to BYU on winning another Moutain West title. Nothing like beating a hated rival to win your conference. Lee do you know which bowl game they'll be invited to?

Probably the Las Vegas Bowl, though there is still a slim chance they could qualify for an at large BCS bid, very slight, but still a chance.

It is the first two games of the season. First one was at Papa John's where Louisville plays. Remember it is highlighting all aspects of his game so it shows blocking and gunner work on punts also. Usually he is the focal point of the video but not always.

In the second game there is a play that BE fumbles the ball, took me like three times to figure out why it was there, but watch the kid on the team in white near the top of the screen with the cast on his arm. Nate is #7 in case anyone didn't know.

It's also pretty fuzzy from the conversion.
Still working on getting a better highlight film since mine was a burned copy from a burned copy.

The recruiter from Centre called last night and they loved the talk with the BE coaches they had last week and loved the highlight film.

The main things they told Nate were

1) that they loved how he caught the ball away from his body, coach said that most highschoolers will try to catch it in a cradle but Nate almost always caught the ball with his hands extended.

2) that his versatality of playing several positions will be a huge help to their team. They like to carry only three QBs so it's nice to know they have someone who plays elsewhere that can step in if needed.

3) said the precision of his cuts and the acceleration he showed coming out of them was great.

They have three day long visits set up in January and coach told Nate to make sure he comes to the first one on January 5th. He will meet with position coaches for the first time that day. Should be fun.

Knights to the Finals!!!

In a torrential downpour we took care of South Mountain tonight 48-6 and for the first time in school history the Westview Knights will play for the 5A2 state title!!! The championship game at the Arizona Cardinals stadium next Friday will be a rematch against our region rival Centennial, whom we lost to 20-14 six games back.

Win or lose it has been a magical Season and it still hasn't sunk in that we will actually be playing for a state title.

Link to the story and video highlights below....Wish us luck

Congrats and good luck Lee.

First time playing for the state title...... might as well make it the first title in history for the school too.

Sal's prediction:
Westview Knights 21 - Centennial 20

I like that prediction

It will be a tough battle and the team that makes the fewest mistakes will win....We need to play a smart game and win the field position battle.

Thanks Mike, I know it will telecast live on cox cable here, I will look into other options and post if I find anything.

Nate made the city all-star team. 43 teams represented. They practice from the 9th to the 14th and then play on the 15th.

Nate also won the Charger award (MVP) at today's football banquet. He broke the school record for Kickoff return yards for career. Finished second Punt Return yards in a career. Tied for the top in KO returns for a TD in his career.

Awesome, congrats to Nate, that is a great accomplishment, take lots of pics at the game bro.

Also, congrats to your governing body there, who schedules an all-star game at an appropriate time, as opposed to the AIA here, that has the All-Star game in the middle of friggin June, when it is hot and the Kids have not been in pads for 6 Months.

Tell Nate congrats.

Also tell him that Nebraska is in search of a good return man.

Wish me luck tonight. My dart team is in the playoffs. First round tonight.

(I won the match that clinched our playoff berth. Every so often I get these flashbacks to when I used to be good at the game and my concentration and visualization works.)

Nate had a great year! Hope we'll hear more after the all star game, and that the thread continues on next year with his collegiate exploits!
