Patch for CD Version?
I recommended this game to a friend of mine in the army in Europe. He picked up the CD version, but can't find the patch for that version anywhere. Could someone please tell me where that patch is located?

sorry no patches for the cd version ... no one is sure why, probably something to do with the rights to the game but there is no patch. Can't say if there will be one or not. |

You've got to be joking.
If I were someone who'd purchased it myself I'd be screaming bloody murder over this--gee, you don't think it was SOMEONE's obligation to warn people that they weren't going to support the store version? All this stuff does is give people MORE incentive to warez the game. |

we know ... it's been discussed and yelled about to no end ... the main problem is no one has said why. I'm going with that it's something on the company who distributed the cd ... but no one knows for sure. Maybe we can get an answer from Andreas when he finally gets back to the game.

bumping from last night at 9:30? We've tried getting an answer on this for about a year now to no success. I hope he does answer you about it but I wouldn't hold your breathe ... It has been wrung through the ringer here on several threads.

I understand your frustration ... but like I said it's been beaten to death, that's why no one else is responding ... you may have killed Wildhawke just by posting this again LOL.
No one knows all the details so throwing out the standard "this isn't the way you treat you customers" probably won't get you too far. Giving free roster updates isn't the way companies normally treat their customers. Adding new feature after new feature for free isn't the way companies normally treat their customers. Adding features that you (as a company) wanted to save for an entirely different game (like aging) isn't the way companies normally treat their customers. My suggestion is you take it with "take two" or whoever the hell put out the cd version of it. For all we know they didn't follow through on their part of the contract and are being sued, preventing the Trunzo's from speaking about the issue. Isn't that a much more likely scenario? Considering right up until the point Andreas was contactually obligated to start working on OOTP he answered nearly every single question except this one? But since this one thing effects a friend of yours, all of a sudden "this isn't the way you treat customers" gets thrown out. Just saying. |

No Wildhawke is still alive and kicking Mike but maybe after buying the download version and two copy's of the CD version perhaps not laughing quite as much as you are. Take a bet Mike that if you yourself had spent nearly 80 dollars or so on buying the games you might just feel pretty much as mad about the whole thing as i do.
Its pretty obvious that a representative from the company has seen this post but just does not want to respond. Did you note how quick they were to lock Boxingnuts thread when he was talking about a new boxing game he had now become a tester on. There is no excuse what so ever for someone from the company at least having the decency to come on here and say " We Cant or We Wont" or perhaps "Yes we will but not in the near future" Of course it would be worded differently then that. You want my honest opinion. Unless many more ask about a patch for the CD version they wont spend the time doing it. Boxingnut himself bought the download version of this game just as i did when being testers we of course could have had the game for free. I know he also bought a CD version of the game. As i said previously i also bought two copy's of the CD version that is not being supported and needs badly patching and at the moment are as good as useless. Am i annoyed about this? FxxxingG right i am. As i am sure if you guys lived in UK and had been cheated like this, i am sure you would feel the same. Title Bout 2 is a great game but there marketing strategy and there efforts to break into a new market such as the UK leaves a lot to be desired. Just like Mike (mp2365 another tester), i and others here wrote a glowing report on the game that was sold on CD here in UK. I now very much regret doing this as unknowingly i now feel i cheated my own countrymen. In fact i was tempted to go to both Fusion and also Amazon where the CD version is also being sold and warn future buyers to stay right away from the CD version. Unless the people behind the scenes get there act together and work as a team i think the future for more boxing games from this company looks a little bleak to me. Lets not forget that Rob having been part of the test time has a lot to offer and can take the best parts of this game and use that knowledge to good effect in the new game he will be part of. Perhaps what's needed is some real competition. Maybe we have had the playing field to ourselves just a little to long with our own game and another good boxing simulation might just light again the flame under our game and keep it where it rightly belongs at the very top. Mike was totally right about this having been discussed many times on here and i assure you nearly everyone here thinks its unfair that no patch. Or the later version of the game should not be made available to the buyers of the CD. There is more of course i could say on this but being part of the test team and many times having private conversation with Andreas i have to respect what we discussed in private. In fact at times i felt i could speak much more freely when i was not in the test team and of course was under no obligation to anyone. Mike I noted in that now locked thread you dont seem to think that that new boxing game will be as good as ours. I have boxing games done by the same guy and believe me he knows his stuff. When i played his computer game i noted several things in it which needed refining and needed to be done. Even so, if it does not turn out to be quite as good as ours. If they can get their marking strategy right and remember they already have a fan base. They could outsell our own game. Trust me on this one Mike the best product does not always become the best seller. Good advertising sells, that why millions of dollars are spent in advertising by big company's to make sure their product still remains the top selling brand. you know, I haven't been around much here in a long time, until recently and this thread is very dis-heartening...sad really.
What amazes me is that all these years later, and I mean years...after all the talk, hype and everything, the roleplaying model still isn't a reality and I'm sure that most would agree (if you're being honest with yourself) that nobody figured that by mid 2006 everything would be basically where it actually is. That being said, I never wanted much more than simply a way to create my own universe and run fights and have records compiled and titles change hands. And I have that... ...with TBCB1...so the IPBA lives on....though its been restarted yet again (hard drive crashes will do that) and the talk here hasn't changed really at all. The cool thing is I still see many user added fighters and such still being created and I always considered that the most fun part of this community anyway, the sharing. |

Yes completely unfair that there is no patch for the CD ... I with all of you that there should be and I agree it's not good that there has been no word. But like I said in my post, they (Andreas) has always addressed issues with the game. I just believe that because they haven't addressed this one there is some reason they can not. I fully believe they would even if it was "we can't fix it" if they could. As far as the other game ... no I do not feel it will be as good and I have played plenty of APBA games. But that wasn't the point. If it is as good then great maybe it will get Andreas even more motivated. It just shouldn't have been so blatently advertised where it was. General Discussion was the place for it. |
