Poll #3: My priorities for a new version

This poll will be used to help determine your priorities, when it comes to re-doing the new version of Title Bout:

I voted graphics first because I hear more gripes about that. But really, more flexibility in the auto scheduler is the only thing that I want.

The ability to exclude fighters that have fought within a given time frame among others. I have a bunch of ideas but have kept quite because Andreas added a few things to it at my request that have made it ten-fold better than it was.

I agree with Conn Chris. There are a lot of enhancements that could be made to the auto scheduler to make things much easier when running your universe. The auto-aging is also a great addition but could use some more refinements.

Personally I have no interest in online play and very little interest in a role play type game. I am far more interested in improving what the game does well now - a great historical replay.

Sure, tinker with the auto-scheduler and auto-aging, but the fight's the thing. Improve the ringside experience. Immerse the gamer in an authentic prize fight atmosphere of sight and sound. I want to hear punches land and fighter's grunt. Trainers screaming unintelligible instructions to their fighters as the mob goes ballistic! The flash of cameras! Clouds of smoke drifting across the screen! All this is doable. Whatever happened to text-to-sound? I recall someone saying it would be possible to have fighters' names called if they were individually typed in somehow....

One other thing to consider. Global alterations. If I want to change something in twenty fighters or a hundred, I should be able to select them and then change them all.

I think the RP aspects would sell a lot to people who don't have the game. Maybe add a few more aspects to the next version and keep adding them until we have them all. That's a hard call. I don't care about the graphics or interface at all since I'm happy with what we have. Although I think Graphics and RP are the two most important selling factors

In addition to the coloration issue, I think any graphics changes should also include a more accurate representation of what is happening in the fight (ring movement, punches thrown actually reflecting the punches shown in the graphics, etc.).

I used to not pay as much attention to the graphics, but over the years having had most of the text memorized I've found I have a tendency to "watch" the fights. When you do that, you really notice how limited the graphic representation is in the game (I'm not talking limited in the sense of no 3D graphics, but in the sense that you really don't get much of a feel for what is actually occurring in the fight).

The only change that I would request is increasing the rounds of a fight from 15 to 25 or something along those lines.

I would also like to see a fighters endurance rating have a higher setting than 10.

OOPS should have posted here

I did Poll #4 first and after reading some posts there, made specific comments in that thread which I will not repeat here. I voted for more role play first with improved graphics second (the first option). I think that above all there are bugs in the current version that need to be worked out and that should be priority #1.

The main thing to me would be to include more young fighters. I know you have to give them a few fights against decent competition before a fair rating is obtained, but I would love to have a few of the young prospects updated from time to time. I love the game as is,dont really care about role playing(a lot of people seem to want that option)but if I had to make a wish list, better graphics and better description of the fight(that would change according to the characteristics of the two combatants)would be at the top of my list. Online play would be a pretty good option..would be fun to manage against some of the guys on here. However,I love the game and do not really want it to become a role playing game. I play the game for the "what if" factor. To sum it up..more fighter updates, better graphics, better fight experience, and online play would be the things that I wish were upgraded in the next version. Good to see that there will be a next version. However, the game is great just the way it is now.

Among the priorities listed, "role play" is most important to me. But I would prefer a term like "management capability" or something, because "role play" brings to mind arcade play, and arcade-ism is absolutely not what I want.

To be honest, all of the things mentioned in Jim's list of potential modules would give me everything I could ever want for this game.

And, yeah, I would gladly pay for each module.

From this poll, looks like more folks want role-playing than real game enhancements. Of course, we don't really know who all these people are that are casting their ballots. Any from Florida?

I voted role playing first, but mainly from the aspect of being able to manage a good historical replay as a manager or promoter.

Big things for me would be the ability to have 20 round fights, purses that are historically scaled and the ability for game to import historical fighters at the beginning of the year they debut.
