Best Site for Heavyweight Info?

Hey i was hoping that someone might be able to suggest some sights for current and past heavywieght fighters? I would like to catch up on the state of the current heavyweight division (yes i know it isnt in the greatest shape...). Thanks.

There are quite a few good boxing sites on the net..dont know if they are strictly for heavyweights..but..here are a few that I check daily. fightnews, maxboxing, fightbeat, doghouseboxing, and a new site that one of my friends has recently started..fightfan.com they run a prediction tourney there..as a matter of fact a new one is due to start soon. You probably already know this..but boxrec is the place to go for records and career history.

Thanks Mike. I have been here but havent been playing the game much. I have started watching more boxing on OLN and got the bug again. I am trying to put together a new universe to get things started and havent quite hammered down how i want to do it. I just got back from vacation yesterday so i have been swamped at work. You should see something in your email later today. Thanks for your help.

Cubsfan
A guy named Joe Krause used to maintain a site dedicated to 1960s and 70s heavyweights a few years ago.

http://www.geocities.com/sadmspats/Heavyweights.html

Is the link I have in my books marks. Doesn't look like he has updated in a while.

Here's another site that looks to be more current. Steve Dimity's Heavyweight Boxing History Web Site.

You know, just glancing over this site makes you appreciate active Champs like Louis, Ali and Holmes. I have poured over lists like this countless times, but I guess never notice how few Champions in the history of the Heavyweight division have defended the Belt more than once or twice a year.

Just a quick glance down the list showed me one mistake. Doubt if anyone else will spot it.

Was it your boy Burns' loss to Jack Johnson, which I believe went to the referee's scoring - not a TKO as listed?

It is the Burns/Johnson fight, but it should be listed as a TKO loss in 14 (When Police intervened) not 12.

Ooooh! Both so close. According to a pre-arranged agreement between the fighters, if police intervened, the referee Hugh "Huge Deal" Mackintosh was to render a decision. Going by rules of that day, not this, the result should be listed as L 14 for Burns or W 14 for Johnson. Tommy was still on his feet and ready to fight, inspite of the mauling and wrasslin tactics of Johnson, when the local constabulary stepped in and called a halt.

Just came across this one today:

http://www.geocities.com/Colosseum/Lodge/6525/index.htm

Looks like it has some connection to the great Cyberboxing site. Has some excellent bios on past fighters.
